Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said this to Bloomberg recently:

We want to appeal to mothers who don't want consoles in their living rooms, and to the elderly and to young women ... It's a challenge, like trying to sell cosmetics to men.

Interesting analogy. At least he acknowledges the difficulty the Wii faces.

Is this a subtle form of marketing like the bloggers who endorse products on their sites?

Are you being paid to discuss Nintendo Wii.

If so isn't this some kind of spam thing that is outside of the terms of service of this site or something? Should the Beastie Boys be at least getting some commission?

No, to all of those questions. I'm just a fan. I suppose I may be overdoing it with the Wii topics, but it's the talk of the town, at the moment, and it's fueled by my excitement for it. I'll try to balance it out with Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 news, in the future.

you could have just a general, uh, wii thread (snigger) and post news in there, so it's all under one header. most people who read the gaming blogs know about developments already, so it would be better to have it under one umbrella and then people who are unaware of it can, um, dip into the wii as it were.
