Not a fan of the ones with pits, too much work and not much reward

one of my original entries in my "acquired tastes" thread.
defo an acquired taste, but one i treasure.
i like them on their own, but also i regularly make spaghetti + garlic + cherry tomatoes + feta + olives and it works a treat.

replace the spaghetti with penne and feta with goat cheese and I'll be right over.

Ahhh, black olives, feta cheese on a fresh salad. It reminds me of my honeymoon on the island of Santorini. Minus a nice cold Astra beer. They don't sell it in the states. Damn! The people that owned the villa where we stayed on Oia still stay in touch. They put a webcam just above our villa on the side of the jagged cliff. Take a look.......

PS-My wife is half Greek. Papas is her maiden name.

It seems like calling someone's skin an olive complexion would be an offensive thing to say. It's almost like saying someone has a falafel complexion.

I have an olive complextion. My wife has alabaster skin. It is so white sometimes she is translucent.

If you drink margaritas while you eat olives, you never get overloaded on the salt. You can eat and drink forever! Of course, you won't feel so good the next day...
The olive is a fruit and the whale is a mammal. I say BULLSHIT!

My favorite are the little bright green lucques olives (with a pit).
I generally like my olives to have a pit because they're less soggy that way. (y)
i never got into olives. i like eating them out of martinis for some reason, but on their own they're gross. maybe it's just because i'm drunk

I would eat this thread just for its subject title.
I steal at least eight olives a day from the salad bar where I work to snack on (along with raw portabellas and cherry "maters"). I'm completely addicted.
