Looks like Tina Fey, Rachel Dratch, Chris Parnell, Horatio Sanz, and Finesse Mitchell will not be returning. Seth Meyers is the new weekend update anchorman.

Can't say I'm too sad over Parnell and Sanz leaving.

Me too, but he blew a lot of lines...

Cutting Parnell? Shit, this season is going to be like a rebuilding year. At least they still have Andy Samburg.

How was he not funny? Did you ever see the 'Carol' skits?

Yeah, him screaming "I'M CAROL!" wasn't very entertaining to me. But that could also be because I have a friend that reminds me of Carol.

Parnell was supposed to be cut a few seasons ago, but made it by the skin of his teeth. I don't think he's funny, minus the obvious "Lazy Sunday" skit.

My favorite person on the cast right now is probably Will Forte. His imitation of Zell Miller was brilliant.

haha, I loved tiny elvis.

But yeah, best years were the Farley/Hartman years. I loved the GAP girls.

Farley: "Uh, I don't work at the CRAP anymore. I now work at a coffee place called Jitters! You see, it's called Jitters cuz that's what happens to you after you drink there."

Spade: "Oh yeah? And do you eat at a place called "Get Sweaty" cuz that's what happens to you after you eat?"

Do you think Parnell got cut or he just left?

He was probably the most used cast member in the last few seasons, he was like Will Ferrell, albeit not as funny, but involved in almost every skit during a show.

leave him alone Poop Mouth Poop coming outta your mouth

i really never liked chris parnell...it was like he was...trying too hard or something, i dunno. although "www.clownpenis.fart" is one of the funniest things ever. sometimes i'll be sitting in class or at a funeral or something and the word "www.clownpenis.fart" will just run through my head and i'll get caught in a giggle loop :(

NOOOOOO! not parnell, man :(

well, at LAST, seth meyers is finally joining weekend update, which he should have all along. seriously. too bad that other chick is still gonna be there, but maybe they'll at least have some kinda chemistry going on i dunno. but he's really cute....yeah. :o

maybe snl will finally become funny again. man i used to watch that show every chance i got...but it's really not the same anymore. ever since one by one people started leaving... :S

everyone from the late 80's-early 90's needs to come back! really, come back and save the show!

tina fey is just not funny

she is sometimes....at least with jimmy fallon, she was. but when they paired her up with that other chick...they were trying waaay to hard. :/

it almost hurt to watch it.

I think tina fey and chris parnell are both really funny. horatio always made me laugh, his impression of aaron neville was hilarious. I don't care if he blew his lines a lot and laughed, I think that was part of his charm. I think Finesse was pretty bad, inconsistant and kinda insecure-seeming.

jimmy fallon fucked up enough lines for everyone.

i liked Tina Fey but i think Amy Poehler would take away Tina's thunder sometimes...Amy is more about doing silly random shit....and tina is more re-hearsed .....i still like Tina Fey though but she had some funny chemistry with Jimmy Fallon

Parnell i don't find funny

i actually liked that Horatio blew a lot of lines whenever he would crack up I would start laughing...i also liked the CAROL sketches

i loved samburg since his first episode on SNL & loved him even more when he did the Narnia Rap

finesse was barely on any shows anymore

and rachel dratch was merely funny...she dresssed like a teenage boy or man a lot....or she played the ugly girl a lot which i found sad

I watch SNL every once in a while and I never laugh, it's just not even funny to me. I caught some of the old ones like in the 70's and they were great, good stuff (y)

It's kind of like the Simpsons, it's past it's time and should probably just lay itself to rest.

I just read an article about this. Whenever I see an article on SNL, I'm always a little surprised that people are still watching it. Do people watch it live or do they record it and watch it later?

I'm not one of those "it used to be much better" people. It was always 90% crap but you remember the 10% funny because those clips were played all the time. Even when you watch the reruns on comedy central, they've already cut 1/3 of it and it's still mostly unfunny.

[When I was a teenager it was shocking to see Richard Pryor using racial remarks in a comedy sketch. Plus there was nothing else on TV and we didn't get a VCR until 1982.]
