Wouldnt doubt if this had already been done, but if you had to bring 10 albums with you to an island (theres just enough electricity for a nice ass pair of monitors) what might you bring?

i dont expect to see many results cause it can ba a lot of thinking, but this is what i came up with in no particular order:

Beastie Boys - Paul?s Boutique
DJ Shadow - Live: In Tune and On Time
Blackalicious - Blazing Arrow
Muse - Absolution
Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile
Gorillaz - Gorillaz
No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom
Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf
Prodigy - Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned
Medeski, Martin and Wood - Uninvisable

Albums that came close:

Brian Auger's Oblivion Express - Closer To It
The Strokes - Is This It
The Specials - The Specials
Sneaker Pimps - Bloodsport

im also doing this to see how much music is out there i might be missing out on.

what's wrong with ireland, that they'll only allow you to bring in 10 albums to the country?

i think she(?) meant that the ipod itself is smaller than 10 albums. like you can fit an ipod in your pocket, but you need a carrying case for 10 albums

How convenient.. Dave Gilmour- On an Island. That's been my c.d. of choice if I want to wind down and it would be perfect to ease my mind from the sorrows of being stranded on an island.
Melvins- Houdini
QOTSA- Rated R

Clutch- Elephant Riders
The Jesus Lizard- Blue

Pink Floyd- Echos
Corrosion of Conformity- In the arms of God
Alice in Chains- Box set

Irish music is, by far, one of the most popular forms of World Music in America. While it gained early success during the folk music revival of the 1950s and 60s, it shot to major popularity with the success of the Broadway shows Riverdance and Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance.

If I were stuck on the Island of Ireland this is what I'd bring.

1) The Chieftains - Water From the Well
2) Solas - The Hour Before Dawn
3) Altan - Harvest Storm
4) Lúnasa - Redwood
5) Seamus Egan - Traditional Music of Ireland
6) Cherish The Ladies - Woman of the House
7) Liz Carroll and John Doyle - In Play
8) The Bothy Band - 1975: The First Album
9) Kevin Burke - Sweeney's Dream
10) Tommy Peoples - High Part of the Road

I can't decide which Beck album could be considered my favorite...Mellow Gold for its nostalgia, or Sea Change just because it's damned beautiful.
