I'm starting to think that the darkening of teeth due to outside things is a sham. I mean, I brush about 2-3 times per day. I smoke cigarettes sometimes, I drink coke a lot, I drink red wine, etc. my teeth are pretty white though...not movie star white, but they certainly aren't yellow. I think it's hereditary.

I feel like that most nights (having to muster the energy to brush my teeth on the way to bed) and I wonder how the hell people with kids manage. I can barely keep myself fed and dressed, much less feeding, washing, dressing, entertaining etc. a bunch of other little people. Hats off to parents.

i'm so bad about brushing my teeth. i usually go in streaks where i won'tbrush at all for a week, then i will go a week where i brush/floss/rinse like crazy for a week. its a vicious cycle i tell ya

right now i have this really great one that has special bristles so it's like flossing and brushing at the same time. a lot of toothbrushes claim that, but this one really does work a lot differently. it took some time to get used to it, because it kind of hurt my gums at first, but at my last checkup the dentist was amazed. he said, "wow, whatever you're doing, keep doing it." the time before i had had about 3 cavities. they cleared up on their own. :cool:

i had the same thing happen, with the cavaties going away between dentist visits

but then i got sick and the 3 cavities turned into 5, and the one filling i had fell out. so it was hell getting that cleaned up. my gums were such a mess for about 2 or 3 weeks.

my dentist called it "dimpley" ,literally, cause the surface of my teeth are just naturally really microscopically pitted thus making cavities a fact of life

she was going to do some fancy coating on them to even out the surface but I couldnt afford it, but I cant afford getting all my cavities filled all the time either

I hate my teeth because in highschool i had an alcohol related incident that caused me to face plant into a cement parking block so I have two half falsies
