Lately I'm finding it hard to keep my house clean. I used to be a neat-freak-perfectionist-psycho-bitch when it came to keeping up with it. I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm just not motivated to do it lately. But I hate when things aren't in order. I should be cleaning right now. Someone tell me I'm a BADWIFE, and make me clean my house:(

What does one get for a really messy car? (Why is there never a trashcan around when you need one.)

i can't seem to keep shit off my floor. nothing gross, just boxes and papers and plastic bags and books and stuff. i always have to step over stuff to get anywhere in my room, it's annoying.

damned if i feel like organizing, though

My weakness is soda cups in my car. When all the cup holders are full, I pour out the ones that look most likely to have floaties in them and toss the empty cups in the back.
A few days ago, I stupidly left about half an ounce of orange smoothie in my car overnight. The next day *poof* about a million fruitflies.

nothing that'll rot or anything (that popcorn box is empty, i try very hard not to leave food lying around), i even keep my dirty laundry in one place pretty well. just...stuff.

my apartment is fucking tore up. Just because the wife and I are packing up our stuff and there's really no need to clean up as of yet.

I can't stand looking at this dump.

my mum was hardly ever motivated to clean the apartment so she hardly ever did it

means i grew up in a gross ass mess and i never got used to it
fucking frustating, couldnt invite friends and felt always very uncomfortable and ashamed.
we even got told by neighbors that our apartment stinks which is true, first she tried to keep our place clean but it didnt last long..our big dogs are pissing and shitting in the apartment all the time, we sure are cleaning it but sometimes it takes hours till she minds and cleans the mess..she does not care that food is rotting in the fridge, and im speaking of a fully covered in hairy green shit rotting level here
sometimes i grow some balls and throw all that mouldy stuff away with trying to not throw up or else there still would be food of 2002 or older in there, no shit in the kitchen theres still left overs from cookies of the last x mas in a bowl
and my younger brother is disabled and pees in his bed almost every night, she cleans it only every few weeks and yes i have to share the same room with him..
im probably not a super hardcore uber clean person but i try atleast to keep my room as clean that it doesnt take longer than 5 minutes to clean it

im feeling like im locked into a way too small and disgusting cage and theres no way out (n)

i'm messy, but not unhygienic messy. i don't leave food or plates or what not lying around. but clothes and general "shit" - yeah, of course. i'm pretty bad. i don't have all my clean clothes folded and sorted into cupboard/wardrobes, i just have cupboards stuffed with nicknacks and wardrobes stuffed with loads and loads of unwashed (and probably never gonna wear again) clothes just holed up outta the way. i do my washing on a rotational basis. i.e. i get the clean stuff off the clothes horse and iron it on the day i'm wearing it. and wash when there's none left on the ironing horse. etc.

my boyfriend is very clean and he did seriously mention if i didn't "unpack" when i first moved to this flat he would re-consider our future (????!!!). but then he calmed down, i guess. he doesn't fucking live here. fuck off! the unpacking thing is sucky, though. i'm still stuck in that student mentality of moving out after 9/12 months and into a new place that i don't bother unpacking properly. and anyway, i have way too much stuff.

if i had my own home where i could use rooms other than my bedroom to distribute my shit then i think i would be much more clean. also, because i share with two other people i don't want to clean all the time only for it to get wrecked 6 hours later when one of them comes home drunk and decides to make pasta and vegetables. if it gets really bad, one of us will normally stick the ipod dock on a really loud and blitz it. and another person another time. it's fair and good.

i can handle my room and this house being messy, but i cant handle it being dirty. like for example there's a broken glass under my bed which has been there for a week because i dont wanna get on my knees to clean it up because my knee would be in an intense amount of pain if i bend it the wrong way i'll be in immense pain. anyway, that being said, you wont find a molecule of dust or dirt in easy to reach places in my room

Having spent the past couple of weeks cleaning out my mother's house, which was mingin', I can safely say that yes I am clean. Heaven only knows where I learned to be, though.

I hear that!
My mother may not be minging, but her standards have dropped over the years.

I have priority areas, like tha bathroom and kitchen, that are usually clean, and the living room is usually tidy, but the rest is a bit of a clutter fest, muddy boots and unopened bills.

I am horribley messy. Not "clean" messy, either, gross messy too. Not as bad now, generally if anything food related is around it's like a bag of chips or an empty bowl that I ate cereal out of. I used to be worse, but still...lately it's a time issue but it's gotten so bad that my parents want me to move out. Not because of my area but because I don't clean anywhere else in the house. oh man I feel lame, I'm not 15 anymore! Ridiculous.

You're filthy, Brabs.

I use to keep pretty much everything spotless and organized. I'd vaccum and wash the car two or three times a week, vaccum the house daily, keep the kitchen tidy etc. It just seems to get tougher as the years go by. Not enough time. And there's more to try and keep up with. So now it's more like once a week for everything. If that.

Have you done that thing where you use the dustbuster to vaccuum crumbs off the baby yet?

I'm looking forward to that.

No. She doesn't really like loud noises. I usually just lift her up and kinda gently shake her over the kitchen sink. Or let her run around outside.
