Okay, okay. I'm sure Miho gave you more than enough video game posts for the month but this is just insane. I'm such a nerd about this one in particular. Harry Gergson-Williams is doing the music again. And yeah this is all gameplay footage with nice camera angles.

Check out the TGs trailer. It's huge but worth it in Quicktime.

No one really elaborated on it but you'll notice that the aiming function/barrel rolling/crawling is manipulated via the Tilt function of the Playstation 3 controller. I guess it has a use after all.

I played the original and thought it was cool and wanted to play the second but had no access to it.

I liked the way the guards in the original one used to say "Hmm... It's just a box".

I'm going to go to class and come back and hope this thing is downloaded by then...

Metal Gear Solid was awesome, but part two was just stupid with the whole Raiden thing and the story got too weird for me in the end.

I've been wanting to play part 3 (and now part 4 of course), because MGS1 is still one of my favourite games. Movie looks fucking promising :)

It looks nice. The setting looks quite realistic this time around, in that it takes place in a war-torn city. You have militant civilians running around, trying to fight off the many Metal Gears run loose. I was especially intrigued by the end of the trailer, of course. This is when the clone theme of the Solid series becomes interesting.

Yeah, the MGS2 story is bizarro to the max. If you play MGS3 it'll tie up some loose ends, but not nearly all of them. MGS3 is the best in the series so far, imo. And probably my favorite game for the PS2. Or at least one of them.

I think at the end of the trailer Kojima is making a reference to Snake's real name, which is David, because he's holding onto the statue at the end. lol penis. And with the raven (VULCAN RAVEN) shitting on his face he's basically doing it to the youger Snake fans are used to. But with the high tech facelift I'm pretty sure younger Snake is going to be making appearances in the game, via flashbacks or whatever.

/nerd out

I was thinking that younger Snake (or a group of them) is ordered to hunt down old Snake. (David) And yeah, I agree. Solid 3 is the best of the series so far, in my opinion. I'm hoping Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops for the Playstation Portable delivers. It's supposed to have squad-based gameplay, where Big Boss controls a team of soldiers. It'll also explain the birth of Foxhound, and Big Boss's reasoning for creating Outer Heaven. At the least, it doesn't seem like it'll follow in the same footsteps as Metal Gear Acid 1 and 2, thankfully.

You could be right. He'd (probably) be old enough that more superior clones were created in that time period. I think Meryl is going to take Snake's "rookie" position (she's in FOXHOUND) and be involved in stopping his goal. She doesn't even know who the Patriots are. (I know I'm making reference to an old trailer... it's the E3 one, for those who don't know.) Raiden is supposedly going to continue the series so I'm thinking his role is going to be an important one here.

Vamp is supposed to make an appearance too. I think he's working with the Patriots as well.

MGS: PO should be a fine game. I don't know how it's going to control without the second stick. We'll see. Campbell and a ninja like character are going to appear... should be nice. I'm hoping there's some Frank Jaeger references in this one.
