seriously, does anyone here keep thier wallet in thier car, like on a semi-permanent basis?

my boss does.

me and a co-worker just let him know that it's not such a great idea...cause like if some one breaks into your car, you'll not only get your car stolen but your wallet too. duh!

apparently he'd like to be left broke and without a ride.

Yeah, that's pretty dumb. Plus, what if you need your wallet for an emergency purchase or proof of ID? I always have mine on me.

so many people leave so many valuables in their car
quite often i'm walking back to work from lunch and ladies are jumping outof their cars to drop something into an office and they:
- leave their car running
- sometimes leave a door open
- leave their handbag on the front passenger seat

i'm not a theif, really, but when i see opportunities i don't take them, but i get a but jumpy. like the time there was an unlocked bike out the front of my house for a week. unlocked bike! just sitting there.

I'm way too paranoid to do anything like that, I'm always checking to see if I've still got my wallet on me, even though its in a zipped up pocket. Ah shit, that'll hex me for today and I'll have to be doubly careful.

Canadians do. They don't lock their doors either. You saw Bowling for Columbine right?

I once left $1900 cash in my ashtray. I went inside ate dinner and then remembered it about 3 hours later. I went outside and my car wasn't where I left it. I almost shit my pants.

Luckily my father just moved it so he could park in the garage. But yeah...that was probably one of the dumbest things I have done.

They do lock their doors, just not as much. I don't think Moore added in the footage of the doors that were closed, just the ones that were open.

When Brett and I were fundraising in Alberta, I'd say about 25% of them had their front doors open. It was a pretty friendly atmosphere, just that it was nice outside so they left the doors open and the screen doors shut.

I lived in a historic Richmond, Va neighborhood called Church Hill. I loved my house but my Jeep Cherokee was stolen 4 times and totaled on the last theft. I then bought a crap Lincloln Continental. It was stolen 3 times. I finally moved after I bought another house. I became paranoid and now I never leave anything in my car and lock it even when it is in the garage. I now live in Amarillo with a very low crime rate. I still lock it and carry my cash. I have a money clip for cards and cash. Wallets hurt my arse.

You're from Texas too. The money clip is kind of a Texas thing. I remember that from when I lived in Dallas/Ft Worth. But then again, Dallas isn't true Texas, it's just Dallas.

Well, I live in Texas. I am a ramblin' man. I was born in Ohio--moved to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia--lived in Richmond, Va for years(College,Work)--then Eastern Shore of Maryland--South Florida(Palm Beach County)--now the High Plains of Texas.

Where on the eastern shore? Salisbury area? Chesapeake?

Chesapeake area is really pretty. My dad's best friend had his own little place right on the water. I want something like that.

Doesn't your boss also get viruses on his work computer from surfing porn?

maybe he keeps his wallet in his car during work to prevent himself from paying for the porn that gives him viruses.

did you ever print out that article about porn and viruses and leave it on his desk? maybe try an article about car and identity theft this time.
