Has anyone seen this on DVD? I just watched it and found it very strange.

Good strange or bad strange?

It was good but very dark. It centers on an 32 year old photographer that picks up a 14 year girl on the internet. They meet and go to his house. It is very disturbing and takes a stange turn. I really don't want to give it away but I would recommend it if you want to watch a fatal attraction type movie. Make sure you are ready for lots of dialogue and a dark film.

That movie intrigues me, but I've read enough that it scares the crap out of me, too.

Supposedly Patrick Wilson (?) actually passed out when they were filming a, uh, certain scene.

I almost passed out during that scene. I must admit that the fast forward was used in my house. My wife flipped out during the scene. You should give it a look.

Different subject: I don't know what they used on the DVD, but the original movie poster (http://www.cinema.com/image_lib/9498_poster.jpg) was brilliant.

That site was forbidden. They used what appears to be a bear trap for the DVD art and the box cover had the girl in a red outfit.

Yep -- that's it, sort of: the poster had the girl (shown from the back) in Little Red Riding Hood-resembling hoodie, etc., standing on the bait bar (?) of an oversized bear trap.

...I don't know exactly what happens in that scene, but I get the general idea of the set-up.

Now, I flinch as much as the next guy when it comes to that sort of thing, but it does strike me as kind of oddly primal: I mean, if it were a scene with a guy's finger being chopped off (or the threat of it), I might blanch, but I wouldn't have the sort of butt-curling reaction I do to the idea of probably castration. And I imagine it'd be a much easier scene to act in, also.

Just seems funny to me.

Yep, She was little red riding hood. And the scene that we are speaking of is very odd. Ice packs, shaving, clipping, etc. She even wears scrubs.

I watched Hard Candy today. I really enjoyed it - every time i thought i had one of the characters figured out there was a twist. Ellen Page and Patrick Wilson were both outstanding.

Thought provoking stuff.

Watched it with a friend, but we were pretty drunk and I passed out around the middle when she has him held captive. It was pretty fucked up from what I remembered.
