Who buy 10 cigarettes at a time.
If you're already smoking it's not like you're never going to buy them again, so why not just get 20 and save some money, dumbass?

Where can you buy ten at a time?
I always thought that would be a great idea to keep quitters hooked.
You'd think, "Well, I just won't buy a full pack, then when those are gone..."

it makes total sense to me. When I smoked (im on day 12) I wish I could just buy a loosey but they don't sell them around here. Only cause I just wanted one cigarette not 20. Plus when I have a pack of cigarettes I tend to smoke them a lot faster.

people do it to try and cut down but that's bollocks cos they are the ones near the end of a work shift or near the end of the night down the pub who are poncin off everyone else

All the smokers I know buy in bulk. They go down to Virginia and buy cartons for $28.00. 10 times the flavor for half the price!

i sometimes wish i could ONLY buy "loosies" for 25 cents a piece, but they've been outlawed in nyc for a while.

what was the reasoning for them being outlawed there?
I used to live in a area called Church Hill in Richmond, Va. It was an area with beautiful old homes and about 4 blocks away was a very rough "hood". The Asian market where I bought cigs sold them individually for 25 cents. I saw people buying single Newports on a regular basis. I found it odd but the store was filled with oddities. I could never take my eyes off the huge jar with a pig's foot floating around in purple liquid.

i dunno... it could have something to do with cigarette companies only being allowed to sell cigarettes when accompanied by the proper labeling/notices. maybe because they were too accessible to kids that way?

Because they were being sold from packs, and they didn't have any packaging around them, so they didn't have the SG Warning on them.
And they're kind of like the small candy bars that you get for halloween that are labled "not for individual sale". It's more because the candies don't have the nutritional info on them, and no food item is supposed to be sold unless it has that.
And it was very unsanitary havin loose cigarrets just lying around. The didn't want people getting germs.

That is backasswards thinking at its best. I'll be damn if I want any germs from cigarettes.

I used to buy ten all the itme as I couldn't afford the big 20.
I'd get ten Red Band for 64p when I was just starting out. That's a realsitic amount of money to find under sofa cushions and in piggy banks.

Just ask them to take the cigarette out of their mouth and repeat what they said.

It's like in Half Baked with Snoop Dogg who kept bumming joints and then was like "Man, this stuff is really good. That's too bad, because I quit smoking yesterday."

Yeah, I'm not sure what brand though. I just remember seeing signs for cartons on the way down to NC. They advertise the hell out of those things, probably for vacationers who can weigh down their trunks with cheap cigs.
