OK, so you all know I've gone through a bad breakup and I had been with her for a fairly long time.

It just seems whenever I'm around other people I'm just not my usual assholish cracker of a self I once was. I kind of feel like somebody's yippie dog that got kicked in the head.

Shit, it's all just so awkward. The best feeling I can compare it to is that I feel like I've been transported back to middle school, clumsy, awkward...kinda embarrased about the fact that I love Star Wars. Although this has nothing to do with Star Wars. You get the point.

People who have been through this sort of thing before, breakups I mean, where the other person left you... when does this awkward phase fucking end? I'd love to welcome the friendly douchbag persona I once knew back into my life. But everyday I kinda feel like I got hit with a Cinder Block and I kinda have trouble getting my ass up in the morning.

Not really something I am comfortable talking about with just anyone. That's why I'm posting it on this board for all of you nerds to help me. Thanks.

Skra, all I can say is that is really sucks. Just make a clean break and have fun. It sounds corny but works. You sound like you are having real seperation anxiety. She still lives in your house and is doing sketchy things under your nose. You have to kick her to the curb with some of your sparkling new Nikes.

actaully she just got her own place. I'm fine with that.
I'm over her, I just am left with this, well...awkwardness. It blows.

i know what you mean about awkwardness

i don't know what to tell you about it ever ending or being related to a break-up, though

A $10 dollar hooker and some Georgia skunk weed will at least have you feeling very relaxed and a little paranoid for a night. Paranoid and relaxed is better than feeling awkward. $10 hookers are hard to find. Usually they are near dilapidated buildings and have scuffed up shoes.

It will pass. Time heals everything, you know?

Try not to look at the awkwardness as a bad thing, because to be honest, you'll never quite get your old self back 100 %. Life molds you, but it's always for the better. You are walking away from this with more knowledge and strength, and in the long run, the hurt you've taken from this will melt away and you will be a much stronger and happier person. I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason.

Just ask Echewta, Kll, Beth, myself, and anyone else on this board who's been through it. It was hard at first, but as far as I know, we're all happy with the hurdles life and love have thrown at us.
