She's a Beauty.

I really dislike that song. The call and answer banter during the chorus. "Why would I lie?" What does that mean? She's one in a milliion. Ok, why am I going to doubt that? People just don't throw that around. And who has ever said to you "She's one in a million girl. Why would I lie?" Does the guy who wrote the song have friends that don't trust him?

The lead singer's name is Fee.

Fee Waybill

DIdn't one of the Tubes leave to join the Grateful Dead?

...isn't that a song about a guy pimping a whore?

-- so, a pimp saying "She's a beauty -- why would I lie?" makes a lot more sense in that context. Imagine it's Harvey Keitel instead of Fee Waybill and the effect is stunning.

The best song about lying is Charles And Eddie - Would I Lie To You.

CHORUS:
Look into my eyes
Can't you see they're open wide
Would I lie to you baby??
Would I lie to you??...oh yeah <----- because of that part

Now, would I say something that wasn't true?
I'm asking you, honey, would I lie to you?

Along those lines, if you were turning Japanese, wouldn't you know so? The Vapors, indeed!
