Guinness goes over easy when your iun the mood for it. It's not gassy, but it tends to fill me up quite a bit.
Is it of a high standard over there??

2 fridays ago i drank a 32 oz pitcher of it in about a hour -- i drink it so fast because i love it so much. then more people bought more pitchers and the next day i decided im not going out to bars with single friends probably ever again. it is too hard to be in a bar and not drink and ward off stupid drunk people when all i want to do is have fun.

We started last night with a round of Guinness. Next thing I know I'm falling on the street trying to get into the cab. Good times!

I hated it when I had it out of the bottle. On draught is really awesome though. I was pleasantly surprised.

I just worded my Question crap. What I mean is - is it as good as Guinness from the Republic of Ireland? I dont mean that "proper" white stuff they serve over there, just the "normal" black variety?
Some pubs in Scotland have their Guinness pretty tight, it's shit in others right enough.... Depends on the bar I suppose. Big jugs of it sounds kinda wrong it'smeant to "settle" is it not???

i've spoken to people who say if you have a guinness in dublin you can tell the difference. if you're an experienced guinness drinker.

Over there they do a white Guiness - it's looking just like a pint of milk and it really is amazing.
I can tell the difference between a pint in Dublin and a pint in Scotland, even though they are doing a massive "It's all brewed in Dublin now" campaign.
If you want to see a pint of the white guinness- last time I saw one "in the news" was being drunk by Ian Woosnam to celebrate the Ryder Cup last week.
Hold on I'll see if I can dig it up from somewhere...

nah, its definetly not high standard Guiness. Every person I know who has spent time in England/Ireland/Scotland says that theres a noticeable difference between what you get there and what you get here.

yes. it's true. the more guinness travels away from its epi-centre of creation (i.e. st james' gate, dublin) the worse it tastes. guinness: "doesn't travel well".
i've had a pint at the guinness factory and sure, i guess it does taste better, but then again i didn't do a scientific experiment.
they also do a fabulous different brew or something that's like guinness but sweeter.. tasty.
i find guinness quite hard to drink quickly. it's like a meal in a glass. a meal that would be.. casserole.

Out of interest is/has there been a massive "Now only brewed in Dublin" advertisement campaign in the US like here?
Basically theyve shut all the localised breweries in the UK.
I noticed a difference straight away.
I'm not a Guinness drinker really anyway if I'm going down the "ale/stout" road I'll go for a pint of 80 Shilling AKA "Heavy".

guiness tastes like coffee to me, I don't like coffee. one time in college, a girl I know bought me a pint of guiness and I had to drink the whole thing in order to be polite. it was slow-goin.
