Does anybody else think this show is getting better and better. I thought the first series was ok but this second series has got loads more to it. The sitcom inside the sitcom is so bad its amazin. His agent and Barry from Eastenders are loads funnier and there are loads more guest stars and I think I like it more than the office now.And no I'm not havin a laff.

I hear it is good. I watch the BBC sometimes and when you Brits talk I need subtitles. Am I the only one that has trouble understanding the British accent? I watch English films and I always flip on the subtitles.

I also agree that this show is better than the Office. The two episodes I've seen from this season are so fucking incredible. I loved the bit with the homeless guy.

i have to disagree on this one mate. Last weeks episode was just painfull. Last night was better, corbett and stuart were hilarious BUT for me Merchant is getting far too big a part in this series and maggie saying the things to people that she shouldn't really be saying is getting boring. They did that joke once in the first series and that was enough for me

I thought the first series was excellent but it's not touching the office

Agreed!

The first series was on the whole untouchable, and the 1st episode of this series was brilliant, but nothing could have prepared me for the drop in quality over the last three episodes.

It's been exactly the same - long drawn out scenes where Andy gets humiliated that aren't even funny in an Alan Partridge cringeworthy way, and, as you said, Maggie's constant blunders are getting boring.

And I can't believe that he'd set his shitty sitcom in Wigan of all places. Thanks for souring the good name of my borough, Ricky

ha! the wigan thing made me laugh, i know many a clueless pie eater. Like you say the humiliation is getting dull, same thing week in week out. That twat who does drama as well, it's just tired, him coming in looking smug every week. Some parts last night were funny though, like i said corbett was really funny just a shame he wasn't rocking a lyle & scott v-neck.

oh i see. yeah, well i guess you end up feeling sorry for him in a way.

i think adam and joe are a funnier pair on Xfm than ricky gervais and his sidekick.

i never thought i would with Brent, thats why i really liked those last two specials, it was good the way they turned it all around......and he told finchy to fuck off which was great.

I don't listen to the radio. Is xfm the new station out of manchester ? what sort of stuff do they play ?

well, it started off as a london-based radio prog. but yeah i think they have one in manchester now. they also have one in scotland i think.

they play a variety of stuff, mostly rock i guess (adam & Joe that is). they're on saturday mornings 10-1 i think. they're just funny.

My favourite part of Extras is how demeaning and ignorant the agent is towards the fact that there is more to Shaun Williamson than his previous role as Barry from Eastenders by constantly referring to him as Barry.

I didn't have a telly last week when I moved from home, but I've got the Daniel Radcliffe episode taped. I've just found this on wikipedia:

Daniel Radcliffe: You married?
Make-Up Artist: Yeah
Daniel Radcliffe: Don't stop me. A ring don't mean a thing.

hahahah

Barry and the agent are esily best thing in it now. The argument about the agent getting a percentage of the money from Barry doin somebody's guttering was awesome

no mate noooooooooooooo, merchant is killing the whole show. For me they're best at comedy with a hint of realism.

I think the first series was much better, but I've always loved this show (more so than the Office) and make sure to catch every apisode AND the repeat on Sundays. It's brilliant. Only worrying thing is every episode in this series is getting progressively worse than the last. Last night's episode wasn't very good at all, in my opinion. I still enjoy the characters and there were a few laugh out loud moments but compared to most of the first series, it was dull. They could have done a lot more with the dress shop scene, and the Baftas thing wasn't even that funny. They just seem to be using Andy's fame to show that even more people think he is a loser, instead of exploiting it to make some kind of satirical commentary on the real life comedy of celebrity.

Sorry mate but we going to have to agree to disagree, The agent had to be more prominent otherwise it would have been lame this series. Merchant deserves a bit more credit than he gets, if you ask me I think his input in the office is underestimated, if you watch Gareth and Tim I reckon most of their lines are merchant. I can see why some ppl dont like the agent character because he is so stupid but some of the lines are priceless.

the office and extras are both ace. his agent in season 2 makes me crease.

the way he looks like an elf adds to it.

thats cool mate. I don't mind him being more prominent, just don't dig him being SO stupid. It's the same jokes every week, andy your show is shit, make a total fool of andy and humiliate him, maggie get even stupider as time goes on

as a side note, there was nowhere near enough Gareth in the second series of the office

I've found both series to be way less funnier that "the office" - just my taste though.

In other news - Adam and Joe fucking rock! Does anyone else feel Mitchell and Webb are just a crapper version of A & J???

I heard on XFM Manchester today the wildest rumour about Extras, apparently none other than ROBERT DE NIRO is in the last episode of this series. If its true, I'm betting that he gets to say "Are you havin a laff?"in a travis bickle stylee. Look forward to that.
