The British Museum is better than the Natural History. The stuffed Dodo is interesting and all, but no one needs to see a stuffed donkey or giraffe.
Although, the British Museum has an awful lot of pots, but there are mummies and stuff.

The double decker bus tours are totally worth the dough. You get to see a lot of the "sites" and there seemed to be a lot of busses. Stay away from the doritios.

Yeah when you get to London, get on the nearest train (or rent a car) and go to Nottingham. Stay in Nottingham until it's time for you to leave England(y)
