AMHERST, MASSACHUSETTS (WWLP) - A teenager from Amherst will have to serve out an unusual punishment for shouting obscenities at a female police officer. 19-year-old James Connelly has been ordered by a judge to stand in front of the Amherst Police Station for one hour Friday and apologize for his behavior. That's not all. He must wear a toga while he's doing it. The unusual sentence comes after Connelly and three other minors were arrested Saturday on alcohol possession charges.

Why a toga? They're too easy to make. I want him to get out his mum's sewing machine and knock together a Victorian ball gown complete with bustle.
yooooo

Massachusetts just can't get past the Revolutionary War. I bet the judges in Mass still wear powdered wigs. They just can't get over being used and exploited in whatever way best suited Great Britain. This explains this type of punishment. Do they still put people in the stockades on public display and throw rotten fruit and vegetables at the poor saps?
