Just Blaze is a beast with the beats. I wonder if young people will know who already used this sample.

By no means bad...it's quite decent. Just nothing mind-blowing.

I've always suspected when Jay eventually returned, the album would become a victim of its own built up hype. Whereas I think we were all expecting something totally new, he just approached the record as "The Next Jay-Z Record" not "The Return of Jay-Z Record".

Then again, Jay's lead singles have always been like the trailers for Pixar movies. They never give you any reason to expect the full product to be great.

All I wanna do is a zoom zoom zoom and a boom boom. Track is meh and I usually ride Jigga's dick hard.

^ Pah...

It's Public Enemy - "Show 'em What'cha Got", which, in turn, samples the horns from "Darkest Light" by Lafayette Afro Rock Band.

Great mainstream single better then Change Clothes or Bonnie Clyde 02 (his last 2 lead off singles). Well theres going to be a lot of amature criticism when his LP drops...insatiable people who dont know what they want. Hip-Hop (in terms of sales and lighting fires under the East and rap as a whole) needs it...Kanye, Nas and Jay all could score at least Gold out the gate...rare 4 2oo6...if their LPs drop on time.

yes, its deffo better than change clothes and bonnie clyde. and sure "h to tha izzo" is probably one of the weaker songs on blueprint.

beats pretty good, hook is a bit weak, but its a good song overall.

i already read what the horns were from on here but i would've got it as far as public enemy without reading.

i think it's a nice tune actually.

and public enemy sampled the horns to begin with. but i forget what song and am too lazy to look it up.

regardless of the song's quality, let's all agree that it's good to have hov back.

Its ok, not sure if that sample works in the tune tho. I thinks its better in the PE and Wreckx N Effect tunes.

i think it works nice besides thats stutter where he extends the horn. wether or not that's intentional i don't know but it doesn't sound great.

Why does everyone knock H to the izzo? I love that track. The beats got bounce and I think the verses are tight too. The hook, fine, maybe you don't like it, but that's still one of my favorite Jigga songs.

i really like "h to tha izzo", its just one of the weaker songs on "the blueprint" which is an almost flawless album in my opinion...

I was driving from work tonite and it came on the radio, its really has some bass and power to it on a good system! Damn them horns are pure SEX...the beat and decent rapping make the song (the ambience of the beat engulfs on some good speakers)

I've tried to like this. But nah. Too many people have flipped those horns already. And the Shaft sample is underwhelming. Plus the lyrics are below par.

Coincidence or INTENTIONALLY SWAGGER JACKED? (http://www.unkut.com/2006/10/battle-of-the-breaks-just-blaze-at-it-again/)

I like the way the sample's flipped on Diddy's song better, to be honest. Obviously Puff's weak vocals don't touch Jay's, even though Jay came with some sub par vocals, himself. Just Blaze's beat is way to cluttered, though.

I forgot how many people had used this sample before.

Diddy jacked a Kanye beat too (the one featured on the GLC/Dj Kalhed CD "Grammy Family") from what it sounds like....

Back in the states, the video for Jay-Z’s leaked single "Show Me What You Got" premieres Oct. 16 on MTV, despite the fact that its official radio add-date isn’t until next week. Based on radio play that began last weekend, the single should turn up on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart this week.

Directed by F. Gary Gray, the video features Jay-Z and NASCAR driver Danica Patrick racing through the winding roads of Monaco in a sports car piloted by fellow racing star Dale Earnhardt Jr., according to MTV. Later, Jay is seen on a speedboat, at a luxurious party and at a casino.

Jay-Z’s album Kingdom Come, due Nov. 21 via Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam, includes collaborations with Coldplay's Chris Martin, Pharrell Williams and Kanye West.

The video. (http://www.rocafella.com/News.aspx?item=102676&sectionid=137)

This song is weak compared to Kingdom Come. That shoulda been the lead single. I hope they release that song soon, although I guess the album will come first.

the video is pretty much Jay living the good life

the racing thing starts off cheesy but kinda gets better

To quote Young Guru:
The best thing that I can tell you that there’s a song called ‘Kingdom Come’ on the album, which is the title of the album. The way that record came about was from a good friend of mine from college, Lance Williams, he’s one of those dudes that can memorize, he knows how many mics every album ever got. We’re both comic book guys and we’re talking about Kingdom Come which is a comic book that came out about Superman. He was just like, ‘Isn’t it weird where hip-hop is at right now, it’s like Kingdom Come and Jay needs to be like Superman.’ I was like, ‘You’re right.’ I hadn’t read Kingdom Come in so long so I went out and bought it and read it. And I’m like ‘Oh shit! It’s parallel, it’s crazy.’ So I’m telling Jay the idea, I gave him the book and he got it. That’s why I love that song because one of the things that Superman doesn’t realize in the comic book is, not only how ill he is as a superhero but his influence on inspiring the rest of his peers that are superheroes. So when Superman jets and says, ‘Y’all shittin’ on me, y’all want the niggas that’s gon’ kill the people and I don’t kill my enemies, I catch ‘em and, cool y’all deal with ‘em. I’m good.” Wonder Woman comes and she’s like “It ain’t just you doing what you do but Green Lantern ain’t doing his thing no more, The Flash ain’t doing his thing, you’re the leader, you inspire them to keep going and doing what they do.” That’s where the parallel comes in. And Jay can take an idea and incorporate it into a song better than anybody that I know and when he finally vocalized it, I felt it was exactly what I was thinking about.

Man, I'm glad Young Guru doesn't write the scripts for comics. He'd be all shittin on it and do his thing, nowhatumsayn?
