Checkout the new board and properties here on the Monopoly (http://www.hasbro.com/monopoly/default.cfm?page=HNViewBoard)site

An updated edition of the venerable game, scheduled to be introduced on Thursday, will include tokens that are styled after name-brand products. Five of the eight tokens in the new Monopoly Here and Now edition will be branded, offering game players the chance to be represented by miniature versions of a Toyota Prius hybrid car, an order of McDonald’s French fries, a New Balance running shoe, a cup of Starbucks coffee or a Motorola Razr cellphone.

Now when you pass go you collect $2 Million Dollars as opposed to the old $200!

The new board and markers are part of Hasbro updating the game to the 21st Century. (http://today.reuters.com/news/articleinvesting.aspx?view=CN&storyID=2006-09-13T221227Z_01_N13275496_RTRIDST_0_LEISURE-MONOPOLY.XML&rpc=66&type=qcna)

Do you want this for Christmas?

I think it's a really cool idea/concept and a genius way for companies to do some not-so-subtle advertising.

The icons with the McDonald's fries, and Toyota Prius car is genius.

I like the idea you can buy the Whitehouse for a mere $3.2 million dollars.
The ad says it's another limited edition, I'm going out and getting a couple of them for gifts.

Let your desktop show that you "own it all in today's terms."

what the huh? oh fuck yeah, I'm so pumped about the new monopoly I'm gonna make it my desktop.

they should fire somebody, that thing is an abomination. people actually got paid a lot of money to design that and that's what they came up with? I feel like vomitting.

How do you bring the thimble into the 21st century?

I always thought it was a trash can. maybe it should be since they are trying to make this game garbage.

I hate these novelty versions, just a reason to stick another £15 on the asking price. I dont know about you but I'd feel dirty playing a game of Monopoly that involved adverts for McDonalds. I'd need to take a scalding hot shower afterwards. My fave erm, toy, peice, whatever you wanna call it was the battleship.

My dear old mum bought the Wigan edition in a moment of madness.

I expected them to put some effort in - maybe make the playing pieces into a meat and potato pie, canal barge, rugby ball etc, and what do you get? A bog-standard monopoly set with adverts for local radio stations crappily plastered all over the place by somebody with a basic grounding in photoshoppery.

Piccadilly was replaced with "International Jazz Festival". The last time I checked, you couldn't build houses on a jazz festival. Durrrr.

haha. i was just looking at that two seconds ago, completely un-prompted.
anniversary/christmas ideas.
looks great.
but monopoly always ends in violence in my household. that, and the fact games last for about 8 hours.
