It snowed here today. It didn't stick, but I swear that at 4:45 p.m. there were serious flurries.

Isn't it early for summer down there?

icy manipulator
10-11-2006, 06:59 PM
it's spring. The weather down south fluctuates quite a bit for some reason. it's much better up north

Hmm. So when is the best time to visit the whole of the country? Because I'm going to do that and I don't want it to be too hot or monsoon-y. I came in Jan-Feb. last time.

icy manipulator
10-11-2006, 07:04 PM
yeah, nov and dec is prolly the best time overall. it's around 30 degrees most places. what cities are you going to?

Pres Zount

Rain season is pretty much over in Tasmania until December.

I swear it was never this hot about a decade ago.

Documad
10-11-2006, 07:07 PM
I want to go to the rainforest and great barrier reef, but I'd like to see Sydney again too, and this time see the area around the city and not just the city. I really don't know. I have to read up again. I should have more time and I'm not going to NZ next time. But I want to do everything and the fact is that it's so damn big.

10-11-2006, 07:17 PM
hahaha, a trading bloc hey? i think we could survive without cascade and vb. and i'm sure that most imported goods will go to port of brisbane and sydney before melbourne and that little ghost town of hobart

no cyclones in perth, they are further north - exmouth, broome, derby, those types of places.

i don't get perth :(

it was 30 on monday
yesterday it rained but was still not very cold
so today i come to work with just a jumper, no jacket, but its cold enough for a jacket :( and i left my umbrella at home, cos it was sunny out my window (i can usually see the rain coming as i live on the coast).
at least i brought a scarf, i was freezing this morning!

okay, this made me wanna join Pres in his crusade against northern states.

sif stuff goes to brissy before it comes to melbourne...:p

anyway, I like the weather variances here in Victoria. we get snow, and the heat, and all kinds of weather in btw, without tropical storms, overbearing humidity and wanker tourists that crowd up the beaches.

hooray for Hobart and Melbourne! :p

icy manipulator
10-12-2006, 07:03 AM
less than 5? you're crazy. brisbane never drops below 10 even on the coldest night in winter. and 35+ heat is basically unheard of. It's true what they say about queensland. Beautiful one day, perfect the next

there is seriously no fucking rain here tho. we dont get tropical storms or cyclones, that's more northern places like townsville and cairns
