sometimes it annoys me. sometimes I like it but I want it to annoy me instead. I am not sure what I think. Its like mixes for people with severe ADHD

some work well, some don't...but that's the nature of what he does
i'm sure he'd tear a club apart with what he does
doesn't have must relistenability value though, i think.
hlltrnx did a similar thing in 2003 but better

ha, i knew you would have made a thread on this : )

okay, i am unsure what i think about this. the mashing-up is great, yes, fantastic - good party music, yadda yadda. but maaan is it annoying on occasion. 3 seconds of a song you haven't heard in an age and you're like heeeey oh man, this song is great, shit! god this is goo - - fuck it's over already. grr.

but at the same time the crazy pacing is appealing. it gives the songs a new edge. it is fun. hrm. i need to give it some more listens.
while drinking and dancing, preferably.

it is seriously dangerous listening to this on your ipod while walking. you almost start doing the saturday night fever strut with your shoulders, man.

at first you're like "ugh I dont know this shit changes too much" but then little bits and pieces of it get stuck in your head and within a few days you're listening to it non stop. I downloaded a couple rips of live shows he did that sort of carry a similar theme but have completely different tracks mixed in i.e. the first song has Beyonce instead of Ludacris (as evidenced here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doD41QzYQdE)), which is actually much better.

Girl Talk comes out here to Seattle quite a bit and I always end up missing the shows. He's back again in a few months for a block party they have here, I'm going to try and prioritize.

That one song where he slips in and out of tiny dancer and juicy kills.

Frenzied, over the top collages you can shake your ass to.

I've talked music w/ him over beers. It's funny cuz he'd leave after the show, people would file out, and he'd come back in and chill. Very soft spoken.

His live shows arent really much to see unless you intend to bum rush the stage...otherwise its a lot of just looking at dorky white people trying to dance on a crowded stage while listening to his set. I would see him live again just to hear it but I probably wouldnt spend more than $15.

I hate that Juicy/Tiny Dancer part...its really the only thing on there I cant stand. I think the best is the David Banner/Cassidy/Nine Inch Nails cut.

The thing that I've been into lately are these mash-up videos, they're pretty hit and miss but a few of them really work well.

When will Girl Talk put out a new disc, anybody know?

Heres a few mash up video sites, GHP (http://www.gohomeproductions.co.uk/mp3.html) & some of this stuff is pretty well done (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKoBye__Txw&eurl=http://www.djearworm.com/).

No shit, he's gonna be at the Cap hill block party? I'll also have to prioritize. Lets see if we can spot each other in the crowd.

I was gonna go anyway to catch Chromeo but now I'll really have to go.

When is it anyway? I somehow always forget about it until like the weekend before.

I did the mistake of downloading all 3 of his albums and listening to them in the order they were released. The first two were some of the
worst things I've ever heard. At least it got better with the third one, but my day was already ruined by then.

So I'd probably think Night Ripper is awesome if the first two albums hadn't been available.

The Block Party (http://www.thestranger.com/blockparty) info, That is a great party Girl Talk spins the discs the 25th, Hold Steady the other band I really want to see is on the 26th. I'm gone on the 27th for a trip to another show back on the east coast....I'm going to have to pull the trigger soon.

The Hold Steady are fucking sick Stuck Between Stations (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6337868826961373867&q=the+hold+steady&ei=W2sgSKGrMIfWqwP3i-2_AQ&hl=en) they will not let you down.
