The mudslinging goes to a new low:

What the fuck does one have to do with the other? I just don't get it. "You did something bad!" "Uhh...yeah, welll...LOOK OVER HERE! THIS GUY'S WORSE!" It doesn't take away from the fact that you're in deep shit for what you did...just like he was in deep shit for what he did (37 years ago).

It'd kinda be like the same thing if I said to one of my friends "Hey, you got drunk and didn't drive me home on my birthday though you promised to be DD," and her replying with "Yeah, well remember 20 years ago we were playing around in your treehouse and you shoved me and I fell out of the tree and broke my leg?" Yeah, and that sucked. It was 20 years ago though. What you did to me this week has nothing to do with it, and though what I did 10 years ago was terrible, it in no way lessens the fact that you were a total jerk THIS week. Total red herring argument. (n)

That's spin these days, because most people don't apply rational argument to fact. Emotional argument supplants truth. It's sad.

"Yeah, but look what Clinton did."

Maybe if Bush Sr. would have gotten the job done right the first time!

"Remember when I got caught stealing all those watches from Sears?"
"Mmm-hmm."
"Well, that's nothing, because you have a gambling problem! And remember when I let that escaped lunatic in the house 'cause he was dressed like Santa Claus?"
"Uh-huh."
"Well you have a gambling problem!"

Hey, at least Kennedy didn't slaughter thousands of Americans during a civil war like that republican Lincoln did when he was President.

I don't know what is the most shameful part of how the republicans are handling this:

1. Pretending that Foley is a democrat on Fox.

2. Blaming the media for reporting it.

3. Blaming the democrats for not knowing about it and outing him sooner.

4. Rush Limbaugh speculating that he was framed by teenage boys who were coerced by Democrats into luring him into making the emails and IMs.

5. Pretending that republicans didn't know about this beforehand.

6. Not understanding that it doesn't matter how it came out, the party in charge of every single facet of Congress is responsible when they had reason to know about it and did nothing.

But blaming CREW is my favorite one. CREW's Response (http://www.citizensforethics.org/press/newsrelease.php?view=166)

the most LOL part is he will probably get in more legal trouble thanks to laws he sponsored.

thats assuming he doesnt get off the hook, which depends entirely on if the republican party stands behind him or not...which they probably wont.

They would prefer we just forget about all of this and talk about North Korea though.
