Errr... uhhh... nevermind that this is coming from the corporate media.

"And if everyone likes them, they become a bigger name. I feel it's an affront to me that someone with vapid tastes could be exposed to the stuff that I like.

"But again, that's because I'm a snob."

I get what she's saying here, but if someone with vapid tastes happens to like the same band you like, what does that say about YOUR tastes, then? Huh? Huh? :D

If I make a CD and so-and-so is listening to it and they can name the band or sing along to the lyrics then its not indie

i always gathered indie meant "independent" from mainstream culture.

The lines have been blurred. Not just when indie bands sign to majors, but when indie labels get distribution deals with major labels, too.

So yeah, read the article(s). It's not as simple anymore.
