I get home from uni on days like today around about 1:00 pm. I've been up since 7, and I have to work tonight until 1 am. So I have a nap. There are some tough people who do real work, and have real priorities who might not agree with my napping policy. Are you one of them?

F your naps.
I don't take naps ever anymore, but I used to a lot.

I built this huge work table today, like a box shape, and I was tired and I went inside of it and took a little rest...didn't fall asleep really, just rested. it was nice.

napping more than like a half hour fucks with your sleep cycle and actually does worse for you

you'd probably be not so cranky if you didn't take daily naps

Napping is good.
In an NHS hospital, night staff are encouraged to use their break for a nap.
I like the sound of the word 'nap' too, it seems cosy.

When I'm on early shift (especially when the early shift follows a 14:00-22:00 shift) I have to have a nap in the afternoon or I'm like a zombie.
Especially today, as I've been awake since 2.30 this morning. This was caused by me living too close to work, and being able to hear the radiation siren from our x-ray scaner truck every time it scaned a truck or container (which is about once every three minutes)

I worked at John Lewis, and they had a nap room. Awesome times. But I get a lot of sleep-time erections, and they can be somewhat alarming in a full room.

Get up at 6:30 AM, travel/work, get back at 6:30 PM, take a nap at 7:00 - 11:00, get up, watch Daily Show/Colbert, talk to Brett until 2:00 AM, sleep until 6:30. I get 8 hours, just broken up.
I'm getting better though. I'm cutting out my naps and just not getting enough sleep! LOL! :(
Naps, pssh. I have a straight sleep in the middle of the day. I stay up late doing whatever, maybe projects, then sleep a couple hours before class and crash for the afternoon once I'm out.
My roomie tells me I'll be useless in the real world.

the other day on t.v. they said that 8 hours of sleep is too much. I think it's propaganda.

I had to do this big presentation on sleep a couple years ago. Research (that I read) seems to indicate that it's different for everyone, and there's no real standard for how much you need. Some people only need 2 or 3 hours and some need 8 or 9 - could be any amount.

Fuck, I just got a call from my boss saying I have to go back into work at midnight (I just love being on call).
So my afternoon nap of half an hour probably came in very useful, although I'll try and get a bit more sleep this evening, as I'll probably be working from midnight until 14:00 tomorrow.
