...I'd kinda like a shirt with this guy (http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/veryasian_1909_11365832')) on it, but it's hard to find any information doing searches. Maybe because any relavent info is in Thai or Japanese or whatever.

Any suggestions?

Chicken! As long as you don't sell'em, who cares?

whomever you buy a premade one is not going to be paying the copyright holder either, smarty-shorts

...you've never heard of "licensing"?

Also: my shorts are fairly ignorant, thank you.

You could always make it *slightly* different by like changing the color of the stripe on the hat or adding another one. Herro Kitty knockoffs do it all the time!

I'm mainly just being difficult.

Yeah -- if the real thing's available, it's a lot cleaner to do it that way. If not, it just depends.

I wrote a letter to Salinger's publishers once, because I wanted to put the Raise High cover on a shirt. I figured it was a no-brainer, but they wrote back and said a firm NO, so I let it go.

No, it makes no sense to me to deny what is basically free publicity (and I kind of resent it, actually), but, then the property isn't mine, so it's not up to me: that's how I see it.

Yeah dude, free publicity. I never got that either.

My grandfather used to yell at me for wearing clothes with the name brands written on it, saying "I sure hope they're the ones paying YOU for that." Which makes sense. Why pay $30 for a plain Abercrombie shirt that just says the store name on it? It just benefits them. It does not make sense.

That's absolutely, absolutely true. I won't buy shirts with "ABERCROMBIE" or whatever writ large all over, because I hate feeling like a billboard.

But if it's something I really like and I have no compunction about advertising for it (like, say, my Traffic T-shirt or something), then I'm cool with it.
