I'm a little afraid to use this new toaster oven

I once tried to heat up a Wendy's Kids' Meal in the microwave, bag and all. I didn't realize it had tin foil in the bag to help trap the heat (it was between the layers of the bag) so it sparked and caught on fire! It was funny afterwards. But um. That's not the same as a toaster oven, I believe toaster ovens can handle metal, right?

Toaster ovens can at least handle tin and tinfoil (it came with a tin to cook shit on).

It's actually happened to me once. My brother cooked toast in it, some of it glooped on to the heat bar (?) and when i went to use it, the stuff that was on the heat source(?) caught on fire.

Is a toaster oven the same thing as a toaster to you guys? I remember having a toaster oven when I was little and it was like a weee little oven that you could put sammiches in to melt the cheez and make the bread toasty. But now I hear people use "toaster oven" like they mean "toaster" (the thing with 2 slots that you put bread in and push down the bar in order to toast).

nah man, a toaster is a toaster, a toaster oven is a toaster oven. I really miss my toaster oven actually, I used it for a lot of things. in college, my jank ass electrical system in my apartment couldn't handle a microwave, so I was always toasting things.

ha, I'm thinking about my old apartment now...it was sooo tiny. the kitchen(ette) was like 4x4, but it was kind of cute in it's own little way.

I believe North Korea has over 1000 toaster ovens. This is something to ponder.
