the human range of hearing is only like, 20 - 20,000 hz. i never get this super duper headphones. are you gonna give them to your dog to listen to?

It's from a music magazine (I think it was Q) that I read maybe 10 years ago.

i can tell the difference between the three set of headphones that i have.
set 1 is 16hz-20khz
set 2 is 12hz-24khz
set 3 is 8hz-30khz

so not being able to sense ranges outside of 20hz-20khz is wrong.

i find it highly unlikely that you can hear below 20hz - it's not something you can hear. perhaps you can feel the pressure against your eardrums if you have it up really loud. in terms of higher range, people vary, but over 20khz there is pretty much generally inaudable. dont' tell me you have fucking superhuman hearing.

no. wrong. you arent telling the difference between the "capable" frequency responce of each pair, what youre hearing is each pair having a different repsonce at each frequency, like some bring out certain frequencies more than others. in other words they dont have matching volume/spl across the entire frequency spectrum.

as for headphones i really like my pair of Grado SR-80's. theyre very crisp and clear. but i dont reccomend them if what youre looking for is tons of bass, theyre not really made for that. if youre just looking for loud and bassy most sony or technics will do. but i love my Grado's.

I had a different model of that brand, and they KILLED my ears. I've had a hell of a time finding headphones because I sometimes wear them for long periods of time and there is always something about them that feels funny on my head. I don't like to have my ears bent back at all.

These are great for the price. I've had them for about a year. They block outside noise very well and sound is good too.
