Getting your nails done

I want mine to look all pretty, but I hate going to nail salons because every time the Asian men just yank at my hands and are mean to me.

When I've gone with friends, same thing. They usually massage THEIR hands, but I get yanked.

Aren't fake nails really really BAD for your real nails. Kind of ironic when you're trying to make them look better. It's like waxing your noexistant mo once u start you can't go back.
Anyways I dont think it's just you my friend got hers done the other day and she said it hurt like hell.

i'm going to get my nails done soon.
i have really boy-nails. my mum bought me a voucher for my birthday for a manicure and pedicure so i guess i gotta at least take advantage of it. imma use it for the red road premiere! wooh.
they'll just be shaped and, um, various coats of.. things applied to them in the colour i want.
i can almost guarantee my nails are in a worse state than yours though. i have a nail infection! :eek: it's been there for like 9 months but i'm too cheap to buy the £20 miracle cure. don't worry, it's not one of those nasty finger rotting off massive fungal infections, just a wee one. but still, not very aesthetically pleasing. it won't be cleared up when i go for the nail job so i wonder how they will react? maybe they'll refuse to do it? YIKES. um. i hope not.

I get my nails done once a year, a few days before my employer's big black-tie fundraiser. They just clean up the cuticles, shape my nails, and I get french tips painted on. It's the most amazing thing, I feel like a princess for about a week. Then, it's back to looking a mess for 51 more weeks. It only costs about $20, I always intend to splurge a few times a year but it never seems to happen. I think I just feel bad because the shops are always full of Asian women wearing surgical masks. Feels like I'm patronizing a sweatshop.

im surprised people dont get their nails done more. it's relatively cheap, it's almost like one of those things people do every thursday.

eh. i eat my nails. i get them done occasionally when i want to stop. it works for 3 minutes.

I dunno what it is... I tip them! Not bad, either. Or they'll do that thing where they YANK your hand, look at it as if you just had it in your ass, and then go back to yanking and filing some more.


I don't go for the fake nails anymore. Last I did that I was here asking Crystal if she knew how to get them off :") Plus, every time I've ever gotten those things, they paint them on really, really thick and my nails are thick to begin with. So then I got toe nails instead of lady nails or something.

I don't like strangers touching me and I don't like making small talk. also, my nails are healthier when I don't put any polish on them, so I just stopped putting it on years ago. and I have no cuticles to speak of, so I don't need them maintained.

you should tell that man to stop yanking you. or just not go.

i like getting a manicure and pedicure, but i don't get fake nails. i have had the fake nails before, but my real nails are nicer and much less upkeep. i haven't had either in a while, because of some freakish thing a friend of mine talked about (she had like red streaks running up her leg -- an infection, i guess). also, it's sorta nice to do them at home on the weekends with noelle, except she leaves the polish on for approximately one minute and then takes it all off.

when I paint and draw I always fuck em up. That and I am clumsy and I break my regular nails constantly.

the one time i got my nails done for prom or something, i got this weird massage where it was like half smooth and right when i thought i was gonna enjoy it she like dug her stubby nails into my hand and yanked and weird stuff, she kept looking at me and smiling like she was putting some kind of asian hex on my hands. fuckin crazy asians i hate em

yeah that's the one part that drives me nuts. I sit there tensed up trying not to laugh because it tickles so much.
