i thought it was an honour to kick off the show, and after the story of easy e and such, the boys intro woulda just seemed corny. It was good to see them getting mad respect from the other honourees int hat they really seemed to be into the bboys rapping and mixmaster's beats, though i thought that having the comedian come on before them, without saying ANYTHING about what the beasties did for hip hop hardly, was disrespectful

All of the tributes seemed a bit rushed and I agree that Tracy Morgan could've been better. I chuckled when home-piss said about the Fat Boys, "They popularized the spiced-ham and cheese sandwich." Don't know why, I just did. The rest of his little act was lacking in many respects.

For a second, I thought Q-Tip was Spike Lee and I was definitely like whoa. But then I realized it was Tip and just let him Kick It.

I was thrilled to see the Beasties honored, but it seemed like some VH1 intern just slapped the Beasties segment together. First, Tracy Morgan's intro was worse than his lame ass SNL skits. It was actually disrespectful. C'mon, the Fat Boys? WTF??? Diddy's rapping was horrible, but that didn't surprise me. It was a wierd tribute medley, and yes very short? The whole segment didn't flow well to me, but the Beasties gave a great performance.
On a completely different note, I'm still would love to know why Rakim got honored but not Eric B?

i don't believe tracy morgan knows anything about the beasties, but he probably googled some stuff and put that shit together to make it into his stand-up comedy minute. and it wasn't even funny. that was the worst introduction of the night. no respect (i think he tried to save it in the end, but..) it was sad and disappointing for the most part....q-tip held the performance together though, MMM was hot and when the beasties came out, they were at the top of their game ;)
