This one goes out to my main grrrlie, b-grrrlie! :D

I love love love the Bunnymen. Those first 5 albums in their initial run are just the work of awesomeness!

Having said that, their latest album from last year ("Siberia") was quite good, too. I was pleasantly surprised. Which makes me curious of what else the Bunnymen have done between '87 and now. Is it any good? Or more trying to hang on to their glory days? Help me out here.

I may also have to get Ian McCulloch's first solo album, too.

I didn't get Reverbaration until last summer (and even then mostly because it was a promotional copy and for like a tuppence). It doesn't have McCulloch on so it doesn't sound the same at all... I've hardly listened to it at all. Electrafixion is much better! And I still haven't heard What Are You Going To Do With Your Life? nor Flowers ... :o even tho a friend of mine says the latter is rather good (but he's partial to Bunnymen...)

McCulloch's (old) solo stuff if good as well, and also check out Glide (http://www.myspace.com/glidesonic) and Baltic Fleet (http://www.myspace.com/balticfleet).

Well they had back in the day.
Them two had a band with Pete Wylie, called Crucial Three, for a short while, and they had a fight over who'd written what, both recording tracks with their new bands (Teardrop Explodes and Echo and the Bunnymen). I don't know if they still don't talk to each other.

I have a couple of albums by these guys that never really get listened to. I don't know why I'm not a fan, I tried, but Echo & the Bunnymen has never clicked with me.

Another group from that era, the Psychedelic Furs, I totally love.

I know, I know,

I'll shut up now.

Actually, I just recently listened to Psychedelic Furs for the first time and they were great! (y)

80's is a decade with music that's hard for me to swallow. I try, I really do - but I just prefer 60s,70s,90s, and 00s.

Depends on what aspects of the '80s we're talking about. '80s college rock/underground/new wave/post-punk, etc. stuff was very fertile.

Or post-new-wave, art-no-wave, college-neo-apocalyptic industrial folk.

No Wave is kinda... out there. I listened to "No New York" and that's just abrasive as fuck. May need to absorb it better.
