I was really upset by the way the ticket sales for the surprise show on Friday, October 20 at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz was held. An email was sent out getting my hopes (and others I'm sure) and when you tried to link to the site to get tickets you could never get through. I logged in just before noon as directed and tried for over an hour to get into the site. I had a couple different browsers open and I as totally on it. I never could even get past an error message until the site came up to say it was sold out. What a bummer. I'd really like to know if any tickets were really sold through the site because it was impossible to get through -- if someone official could give me an answer on that, I'd really like one. Shame on the BBoyz for getting my hopes up and wasting my time. I'm TOTALLY bummed out.

Yes, I can confirm that the show is now sold out.

The ticket site couldn't handle the demand. Unfortunately that happens sometimes and there's not a whole lot we can do about it - we don't run the ticket sales site.

I'll be announcing another Californian show on Friday at 3:45pm PST. Check back then for the details on that one and hopefully things will work out a little better for you.

"shame on the Bboyz"?

I dont understand everyone's gripe here...

the members here are privy to exclusive information, and due to popular demand, these small shows sell out quick...

how dare the Beastie Boys announce a private show to their fanbase and then sell out said show

if you want to be pissed, be pissed at the other board members who got the tickets before you...

seriously,

seriously,Right. I'm not sure I understand it either. I'm just so happy that they're doing live shows; that those shows are in small clubs is an enormous plus. Given those venues and the relatively quiet nature of the announcements, maybe people who don't normally have an opportunity to see them will get that chance--and I'm thrilled for those people!

I had a blast at Gimme Shelter. The videos that I've seen capture the mood amazingly well, about as well as you can get without having been there in person. It still stupefies me that I was close enough to the stage to touch them and I did touch them. I should probably post about it all so that people who weren't there can hear about it from everyone who was there. It's been > a couple of weeks and I'm still feeling it. Hope everyone in California/Vegas takes advantage of and enjoys every second of the upcoming shows and appearances!

Jealousy breeds the anger. I don't know anyone who would choose to see a stadium show vs. a small venue. These shows are the best news ever.
