I like to say I hate cats but, the truth is, I just don’t like them. Anyway, I was walking home from the pub a few nights ago and was kinda drunk and before I get to my house I see one of the strays that hang around the neighborhood she’s sitting there crying in on the side of the road. Now I don’t like cats but I felt kinda bad because I assumed she was hungry so I did that little “here kitty kitty” shit and she gets up and follows me to my house. I went inside and grabbed one of my many cans of tuna (PROTEIN!!) and put it in the front yard and she shuts up and eats it then I go back inside and mind my own business. LAST NIGHT I get home and decide to experiment with my grill outside with some ribs and before I even put the keys in my front door, this cat comes running up and crying and I think “Fuckin cat! Get away from me!!!" and consider kicking the bastard but, then I remembered that I had fed it a couple nights before and now I had set this precedent and I pretty much gotta feed this damn cat until I leave this country… SHIT!

Ahh...that makes you all nice and lovable.
I now look forward to next week, when you post about not liking old people, but helping one who was lost and thought you were her son, and now she's on your sofa The Jeremy Kyle show.

She's white with brown and light brown patches. I think she gave birth a little while ago because her stomach kinda hangs down a little... or she just used to be really fat and then lost a bunch of weight... and now has to have that skin removal surgery? She acts like she used to be a pet and there is this orange cat that hangs out with her during the day (it's a stray too). I haven't given it a name, I just call it "cat" or "kitty" like "here you go kitty" or "alright cat hold on!".

Maybe I'll put a buncha food at some old lady's front door and then when I leave the cat will go there, old ladies love cats... especially if their children don't visit as often as they should! ;)

Yeah I agree I hate cats too.
And this story sounds all too familiar with how I ended up with a cat here, my housemate came home from the pub and saw the 'poor kitty' and brings it home to feed it vegan pizza since she didn't actually have anything else suitable (being vegan). She tried giving it soymilk but that cats pretty smart and didn't want it.
I felt so sorry for it I ended up giving it some real milk and a can of tuna I had when she went out (because she wanted her cat to be vegan too - which apparently you can do but she didn't actually have any vegan catfood she was giving it her food which i have to say half the time I wouldn't even eat (not cause it was vegan just her 'adventerous' cooking).
SO yeah then I'd fed it and she'd pet it and tried to feed it so it moved onto our balcony so eventually we bought it a home ( thing to sleep in) and got it microchipped and all that. She named it book (long story) but the stupid microchippper people thought it was a missprint and called it booh. boohoo book's an awesome name for a cat and now its forever got the wrong name the microchip is like a birth certificate!
Yeah
enjoy your cat
she's moved out now (the cat and the housemate)
Im glad its no longer my responsibility.
I guess it wasn't as bad as the time she decided to liberate the pidgeons.
But that's another story.

i would try to think of it less as losing your free from harassment life and more like gaining a friend. a friend shaped like a cat.
although i am very worried that you "hate" cats. how could anyone hate cats? it could be worse. it could be a smelly, wet, clingy, stupid dog .

It also could be AIDS disguising itself as a cat in order to gain access to your bloodstream and break down your immune system until your body can't defend itself from the sniffles. Could be worse than a cat.

TELL IT!
IT was a warm and sunny day in Melbourne a few days before Chinese new year. My housemate, who shall be called 'the animal avenger' from this point onwards had been out all night at the art house on a drunken binge and was making her way home via the vic markets. Now on Chinese new year they let off a heap of pigeons as a sign of peace or something.. so they're selling them at the markets $2 a pop. Not special pigeons just your everyday garden variety gray shit allover your outdoor cafe table type pigeons.
So here she is, the animal avenger, wandering through the markets in a semi-drunk sleepless daze when she sees these pigeons holed up in little cages. I don’t know how she did it but she got a 5 finger discount on two of them and bought them home in a little cardboard box...without holes or anything .. at least in the cage they got sunlight right? so anyways now we have 2 pigeons living in a bedroom in a box.
And I'm all like good for you man but what are you going to do now.. she really hadn't thought it through.
So she starts calling all these animal shelters but they MUST be NO KILL shelters...and she's getting the full run around. No one wants pesky grey pigeons understandably. I suggested that perhaps she just let them go but she seemed to think they wouldn't make it despite me assuring her they are pretty resilient creatures. Scavengers and the like.
So everyplace she calls gives her another number. This takes a couple of days. Meanwhile these two pigeons are in this little box in her bedroom so I start to feel guilty so I go and get my big ol tv box from the garage so at least they can have a bit more room and put them in there. Now these birds are eating breadcrumbs (fed by me she spend all her moola on alcohol) and water and going nuts trapped in this box escaping once a day or so and making a hell of a mess in her room.
And I'm feeling bad trying to say let them go man , and I’m no animal avenger, but like with the cat now that its in my home I feel a kind of responsibility for them. It's not that I dont want them here I just felt the situation under which they were living and being kept was no better than their original situation if not worse. But no she had to do the right thing. She thinks they won't make it out in the big bad wide world and if they do well she has another ethical issue, they are pests after all.
Eventually she gets in contact with some pigeon society captain dude who's wife tells her that her husbands at work but he'll take the pigeons probably - he'll give her a call tonight. By this point its about four days on. Chinese new years passed and they could have been free already. He never called.
7 Days later she gets sick of their noise and their shit cause understandably they're going nuts holed up in this cardboard box with no daylight (well we put holes in it but it only does so much) in her bedroom.
So she lets them go.
And they fly away to live happily ever after.
The next day the pigeon guy calls saying he'll take them.
Heh. Life’s a bitch like that.
the end.

A few years ago, when I lived in Maine, I moved into a new place and a stray cat kept hanging around my door and following me whenever I was outside. I was so touched that this cat singled me out, I bought it all kinds of food and stuff. One day I mentioned it to my neighbor, who said, "Yeah, the guy who lived there before you was a lobsterman." Stupid cat broke my heart. :(
They TOY with your EMOTIONS and STOMP on your HEART! (Oh wait, that's men...)

Lately Bastard Cat has been chilling by my front door. I almost step on the thing every time I go outside... crazy feline...
Does anyone remember me mentioning the grey cat that comes in my garage cat door? We had just moved to Amarillo and we were settling into our new house when I saw him wandering around. I looked at his collar and it said--Cinder and had our home address on his tag. The former homeowners failed to mention a cat.
Well, he has been around alot more lately. I think the people that were feeding him have stopped so he is eating his bowl of food in my garage every night. I was just out in the garage petting him. He is a nice alley cat. One my 3 indoor cats has cancer. Porter is getting skinnier by the day. He seems fine and is not in pain..... but the poor dude is sick. One day I might take Cinder to the Vet and let him in the house. My guess is he likes the freedom of being outside and dumpster diving. He probably gets laid alot at night. So, now that I think about it I will let him keep hanging out in my garage and prowling for pussy.
I know what you are saying Tone but cats really grow on you. They aren't all that bad.

same thing happened at my house, we even named the cat (we called it Virgil) but it started coming round everyday and my fam hate cats too, so we just stopped feeding it and started shutting the door in its face, it stopped coming round after about 3 weeks, stupid cat.
