You drink Merlot right?

I just bought some Turning Leaf Merlot 2004 ($8.00)

Did I just get some garbage or is that acceptable?

Just wondering.

Dude I'm not a wine snob... or even someone that buys wine. I just wanted to try having a glass of wine every night because it's supposed to be good for your heart... and I stopped drinking beer during the week :)

I wonder if what I bought was that same as walking into the joint and saying "bring me your finest box of wine! NOW!"?

Word....I got through like the first 20 pages of Wine for Dummies and then said "Fuck it I'll drink whatever tastes good"

I guess I should kinda clarify something. When I say that I've stopped drinking beer during the week, it means that I stopped drinking beer during the week... TODAY! So we'll see how this works out :o

ok, $8 does not mean the wine sucks, but Turning Leaf, Gallo, all that shit sucks ass. There's way better stuff in that price range. Try Smoking Loon or Estancia. Sorry, I'm not Beth, but I was having a coronary.

"Fuck Cristal", so they ask me what we drinking. I thought dude's remark was rude, OK? So I moved on to Dom and Cru Rose. And there's much bigger issues in the world I know, but I first had to take care of the world I know.

i'm no connosieur (i should stop trying to spell that word), i don't think i've ever had a bottle of wine that cost more than $12, but you can get decent stuff for around $8-9. in my limited experience, yellow tail is a pretty safe bet, they have a bunch of different wines. i think they do merlot. not sure. their shiraz is quite ok

i do drink merlot, but every time i buy something different just to try it out, and sometimes it's shit and other times it's a score. i thought the turning leaf tasted fine, as far as i recall. kendall jackson is better. the coppola merlot is pretty strong, so you have to let it breathe and you really have to like merlot to drink it. smoking loon is good too. i bought this one from chile that was $30 for the hell of it when it was back on the ex's dime. that shit was unbelievable.

anyway, i'm not really the one to ask, sorry. i stick around $9 to $12 most of the time, and that works out just fine.
