naw, I was hoping to go back to work afterwards, it is not that big of a deal
having to deal with the pain of an abcess the past 2ish weeks and still working normally has to be worse

root canals are not age discriminate.
root canals are not age discriminate.
i had one when i was...god, younger than 12, i forget how young exactly. i smashed my tooth on a baseball bat. it wasn't totally my fault, but i covered for the other guy. he wasn't trying to hurt me or anything.
thing is, they fucked up the procedure and left part of an instrument in my tooth and didn't realize it till after they'd sealed it up. so they had to dig it back out. i had to go to the dentist once a week for...a long damn time. at one point they stopped using novocaine because they figured the nerve would be dead but whoops, it wasn't. that stung a little. it's dead now, though.
i don't even know what a root canal is quite honestly, but that's my root canal story.
i'm sure yours will be fine though!

well...at least they won't have to dig a miniscule piece of metal out of your tooth
probably

abcesses are the root of all evil.
Yes, full on members of the axis of evil.
I had one on a top front tooth that made my nose and face swell up just like a resident of Whoville.

i thought canada had free healthcare
and my dentist told me nothing is as good as your real teeth so i woudln't be so hasty rippen them out unless you wanna have to have to watch what u eat because of your teeth for the rest of your life
anyways painkillers rock yeah
when i was in hospital i was on a morphine drip and then when the pain management team came around they were all like how's your pain on a scale of one to ten and im like erm 7 or 8 when it was more like 3 of 4
so they put me on a ketamine drip too
when i saw the surgeon again he wasn't too impressed he seemed to think it was a little excessive
heh.

apart from the broken instrument thing, i've pretty much repressed most of my memories about my root canal. what sucked about it?

it was just crazy painful the 12 hours following the procedure, and my gums and lip and cheek on that side got all swollen
it reminded me of a tales from the crypt I saw as a kid where the mummies go around sticking clothes hangers up people noses and scrambling their brains up and then ripping them out through the nostril
except this was just a wee tiny hole drilled into my tooth and they used something that looks like a tiny toilet bowl cleaner brush to do the scrambling
apparently I need another one on the tooth next to it sometime soon, so ah well I guess Ill get used to it
