Who say they "don't like music". Like, they just don't listen to any kind of music at any time. They say "music is boring" or something.

Fucking morons.

I run into these sorts on occaision, they either don't like music or they do not have a clue to go out and explore beyond what is spoonfed by the media to them.

I do hang around some folks who wouldn't know a thing about the Beastie Boys music and it's cool. But deep inside I'm thinking WTF is wrong with you? We have enough other things in common that it doesn't matter, mostly folks from work. My friends I've known for years are cool.

These folks who do not like music are an odd lot. They have barely anything to offer. I know one guy in particular who is brilliant in many ways but he could probably only tell you 2, maybe three Rolling Stones songs and no bands name with an album released this past year.

I hate people who say they like "everything".

And essentially, everyone says that shit.

"Oh, I listen to everything."

Yeah. I guess I can see people just not caring much about what music they listen to. For me it's almost more of a story thing sometimes. I get just as excited reading about the artists, finding out where they got ideas for songs etc. More like a culture thing, modern heroes sort of deal I guess.

People who say they listen to "everything" more just annoy me. I wasn't asking you what you liked so you could end the conversation with a blanket statement, thank you very much.

these ppl must be deaf

my housemates say i have no taste because i dont listen to the soft emo shit they listen to. one of my housemates has about 300 cd's yet i've seriously heard of 2 of them. he seriously doesn't understand that i've only heard of 2 of them is because the rest are shit. and the general population would agree it's shit too.

one of my friends once said, pat, you think anything that isn't 80's hip hop is emo. imo, that's a compliment:cool:

they're too busy pretending to read pretenscious books and acting as if they understand them whilst drinking weird tea made from nettles and cabbages.

Thay also pretend not to own t.v's too

I've known a few who "don't like music." Mostly what that means is they hate the vast majority of music that plays on commercial radio and/or music channels, and they have no interest (or knowledge) of checking out things beyond the Top 40. So they've given up on anything music-related.

If these people do actually like music of any kind, it'll mostly just be one or two classic bands from yesteryear. For example, I had one friend who had zero interest in music, and the only band he would bother to listen to was Pink Floyd.

Another friend hated the vast majority of music and the only bands he'd listen to would be The Beatles and "Weird Al" Yankovic. He's since found out he enjoys some other bands here and there, like Nine Inch Nails and Flaming Lips and the like. But overall, he can't be bothered with pursuing bands.

I'll sometimes ask people to elaborate on "everything" and they often can't come up with anything. And I've seen people on MySpace say "I listen to everything" and then if they elaborate, they'll just list a diverse amount of crap music like Tim McGraw, HIM, Nelly, etc.

I can totally understand not liking 'music' - I think that music appeals to certain parts of the brain that may be developed or undeveloped depending on the person. Personally I like the Beastie Boys a lot, but there are very few bands that I actualy prefer over silence (probably less than 20) and some of those would be considered utter shit by most people here.

The point being, music is just one of many forms of intellectual stimulation and I, like many, others prefer to get it from other sources.

In personally I only really like music with lyrics that I can identify and care little for the melodic element of the music - writing on a hip hop band website Im sure I am not alone in that.
