So basicaly I was out last night drinking and enjoying myself with friends, but that's not the problem. I didn't drink that much.....BUT, of course I'm persuaded to eat 2 big falafels with sauce and some fries.

Why can't I just say no? :(


I'm having some coffee on this.

I remember the first time I had falafel. I pretty much was curious because I kept hearing them mentioned on tv shows, movies, comedians... people from New York.... etc. But I never actually knew what it was so when I had the chance to get one, I did... and I wasn't impressed (n)

I was watching Scrubs the other day and JD was nervous because he was afraid he would kill one of his patients and he had one of those day dreams (like he does:D ) and he was chilling up in some diner in heaven with his patients that had passed on and I think he tried to order pancakes and they were like "there aren't any pancakes!" and he was like "why are they evil?" and then later when he was back to reality, he was talking to Turk (who was eating pancakes) and Turk was all "hey, you want some pancakes?" and JD was like "uh devil cakes? no thank you!"

No but they aren't exactly healthy. The actual falafels are deep fried. And the sauce is fat as fuck.

Yeah I guess that was a bit vague... I was just thinking about ethnic food and the english and things I hear the english say mostly in pubs. I should have been more aware of others feelings though... I do apologize that I have offended you.:o

There is a lot of racism in England... but then pretty much everyone else hates the English anyway so it kinda evens out.

well, you live in norfolk... it's a bit out of the way and i don't think there's too much racial mix up there. however, i know that one town up there no longer puts up christmas lights in the streets for fear of offending non-christian people :rolleyes:

i don't think britain on the whole is more racist than any other country... i thought we were a lot better than the US, for example.

what do you think of the whole veil debate tho?

hmmm. not really. the only difference is that they don't seem to be overly racists to Black people (which of course I notice) in the traditional sense... or at least they hide it somewhat. it seems that most of the racism is directed to the portugese and indians, pakistanis and actually everyone considered asian (again, that's just my experience here) and lets not forget the hate for the polish, french and german. ANYWAY where I live is kinda a backwoods type of place. The veil thing? I thought what Jack Straw said wasn't that bad. He basically said that (and I'm paraphrasing) the veils kinda seperate the wearers from western society, and that's a little bit what it does, but no one really wants to hear that from a high ranking government official (especially these days)..

I did that last night. Only had a few drinks then I ate at least 6 buffalo chicken strips, and fries, and then I ate a salad (fries and salad both get dipped in buffalo sauce, don't ask I don't know why I like it haha). I don't know why I was so hungry last night but I ate so much that I wanted to die after.

yes, i don't think i'd like to work with a woman who is basically hiding in a pillar box -- very disconcerting... and no it doesn't help with integration.

and yeah, the whole black culture is very different here. for example, there's a lot of racism between african and caribbean (sp?) cultures. my friend is from nigeria and she married a man from the dominican republic. it took her mum a lot of persuasion to accept him into the family-- basically just as much as if he'd been white british. so, i guess that's what i mean when i say racism is everywhere. :(

btw you do live in a backwater... i guess i'm being countyist :p
