View Full Version : Alternatives to YouTube?

Since Google has bought YouTube, they've been deleting videos that violate copyright laws like mad. So basically that means if you look up videos for Snow Patrol, you won't find their music videos, you'll just see annoying 14 year olds lip-synching to "Chasing Cars."
Lots of Stephen Colbert clips have been purged, too.
So yeah, any suggestions for YouTube-like sites where anyone and everyone can post videos of their own without the man shutting you down?

this was always going to happen, and in my opinion it's gonna turn a lot of people off google & youtube. See before, youtube was nothing, if a lawyer wanted to sue them it just wasn't worth the time. Now google's got it, the copyright lawyers are wringing their hands in glee.
Suprised that they're removing Colbert stuff, he always seemed like the type that would be happy to have his stuff up there for everyone to see. But then it might not even be his choice.

Comedy Central is under Viacom, and Viacom is wanting their stuff (including Comedy Central shows) off. I put up a whole ton of my favorite Colbert clips on my MySpace page. I went to test them out yesterday, and all of them (except for two) no longer played.
So that makes me pretty depressed. :(

i should start a youtube log. show everyone how terribly emo and attractive i am . perhaps do a little dancing to dark, dark music. rant about my friends who arent nearly as cool as me. then rant about the government and the goddamn internet.

girls would watch because you really care about what i say. and guys would watch because i'd be in a tiny bikini.
