I hate them all....especially when you're not expecting them, like whole cloves in a lovely curry, capers in a salad,or a huge wedge of cilantro destroying that vietnamese sub....blahhh! What spice or herb is uncompatible with you?

It's true! Yeah,I forgot about it in salsa...it seems like that's supposed to be a sign of "authenticity" in salsa...but I suspect California is to blame!

i had to look up cilantro...
the rest of the world calls it coriander
i love coriander, it seems to be a love/hate thing
i put coriander in stir fries
and also use it in salad dressing when i'm eating mexican food + salad
capers i hate!
cloves are fine as long as i don't bite on one :)

trick,I never realized cilantro and coriander were one and the same:p ....it's also sold in the grocers here as "Italian" or "Chinese" parsley.....yes,biting into a whole clove is nasty! But the flavor cloves add can be nice, say like in a hot toddy or sangria....

Cilantro is great stuff; I'm sorry you're all writhing in lakes of wrongness.
Cloves, I don't dig. Whether it's sangria or cigarettes, cloves are just wrong. And, as teeth/gums healing meds, yuk. I'll stick with the stiff iron taste of dried blood, thank you.
Shaved coconut can also go to hell. The real thing -- ? Just eating coconut fresh? Oh, heck yeah. (y)

Ah hah! I was just talking to a colleague about coconut!...unless in a cream pie or chinese pastry it's foul....especially those shavings....but coconut milk,in your rice or as a base for curries,mmmm......I'm not writhing I'm swiming laps!

I don't know what Cilantro is, I'm not into cloves AT ALL, but capers, they're awesome! At first I thought I hated them because even though I love pretty much everything pickled (middle eastern food rocks) - pickled turnip is my fav.
anyways I thought I'd try some someone had, so I took some but they were fucking HOT as , as in chilli hot...and I was like omg I"m never eating them again..because I hate chilli.
But last christmas we had this salmon thing with this sauce that had capers in it so I got to try some 'normal' ones and I thought they were pretty much the bees knees.
MMMM I could go a xmas ham/turkey caper and lettuce sandwich right now actually.
What I really HATE in food, unless it's cereal or a cake, is SULTANAS. Why do some people put them in salads and rice and stuff?! It's just wrong.

I should have read this before posting. I hate corriander too! IT's awful and I'm not a fan of ginger either which is why I hate Thai food. They seem to use those combinations a lot.
And don't get my wrong I love my vietnamese pork rolls but lay off the corriander thanksverymuch.

I hate it when they mix them in with green salads!.....cilantro tastes like sharp soap to me......actually I think fruit and vegetables should be kept seperate in salads....unless it's tomato.....and no fruit on pizza either!
