I've got no time for people who lie, especially when the lies are so transparent it's not funny

The guy I live with is a compulsive liar. I don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth anymore. For example: "hey can you stop the downloads I wanna play a game" "I don't have any downloads" *check router status* yeah right. I don't say anything, it's not worth it. I should just unplug his cable from the router and when he comes in asking "is the internet down?" i'll be "yeah I can't get on either, must be a problem at the isp"

My boss is a total bullshit artist. He agreed to give me a raise, and now he's trying to come up with all these crazy pyramid schemes and shit, trying to tell me he can't afford it while his wife is out buying a new outfit every day and he's paying his 15 year old son a wage equivalent to mine for doing nothing. They eat out every night because his wife couldn't cook to save her life. I can understand that he wants to motivate me somehow, but the way he is going about it is so stupid it's not funny. When we were speaking to the accountant today, I could just tell the accountant was sitting there thinking "what a fucking wanker"

So yeah, I might actually start looking for another job. Shit my sister gets paid almost double what I do working at a church. I'll fucking get down on my knees and praise the lord for what she's earning - which still isn't a great deal but at least it's relatively livable. I've already decided I'm not living with this guy anymore, only another 3 months and I am out of here. It's a shame because he was my best mate.

end rant

now where's my valium

I've already decided I'm going to speak up tommorow, to my boss. For the most part I have just sat there and listened to his rants but tommorow I'm gonna say that I think the way he's going about it is wrong. He's a great salesman, but when it comes to running a business he has nfi. I'm gonna dose up on drugs so I'm nice a calm when I do it, otherwise i'll just end up in a massive argument with him, and he'll sit there feeding me more bullshit about how he can't afford it. Oh yeah, he has this one girl, who's a daughter of a friend, she does nothing, and he's told me he knows she does nothing but he's obliged to keep her on. wtf is that? Fucking fire the bitch, I don't care how big her tits are. Man.

Compulsive liars are some of the funniest though, because a lot of the time they have absolutely NO idea that people are on to them. My favorite lies, all from one friend:

*(After dropping out from HS) Says that he's the first to TRIPLE-MAJOR at community college, they made the first exception just for him.

*Makes $56,000/year by waiting tables at Bucca di Beppo, a decently-priced Italian place.

*Is going cliff-diving in Argentina soon

*Was in AP chemistry in high school and got the highest grades in the class (mind you, my old school was ranked #2 in the nation for their science program and chemistry was only allowed to juniors and seniors, he dropped out as a sophmore)

*Owns a landscaping business, and has people working under him.

*Is going to go straight into his Master's program after his Associate's degree.

...sigh.
It's amusing in a way, but on the other hand it's like, dude. Stop.

this may not be too far off. I'm in the industry and the servers at our restaurants make a killing...it's kinda sick.

Bucca has shitty food! Portions are way to big...

Buca fucking sucked when it was just one restaurant in Minneapolis. How it became a nationwide chain is beyond me.

I know what you mean I used to live with this chick who was a compuslive liar at first I just felt sorry for her and then it just really annoyed me cause it was just soo dumb and I couldn't understand why she'd lie about such stupid things to her friends.
An example - We come home and she's obviously cut herself shaving because she's got this massive fucking gash in her leg (its pretty obviously when its a shaving gash) anyways the first reaction was omg man wtf happened to your leg and she's like 'i was holding a knife and i fell over and accidently stabbed myself'
oooookkkkaaayyyy

Stand your ground with your boss Tracky make sure you get what you deserve. Start looking for alternative employment NOW as a backup plan... You're worth more than the shit he's giving you, I was in a similar situation at my former work I was working below minimum wage and ridiculously long shifts without proper breaks...but my boss was always whinging about how much she had to pay in wages blah blah blah and she was doin it so hard...yeah I'm sure it IS hard when you're building yourself a brand new mansion and you already own like 3 houses and your husband owns like 3 house and you've got a property in the bush. And 2 brand new cars.
Yeah it must be really hard:rolleyes:

True, but you also live in Chicago. This is in Gaithersburg, which is the suburbs of DC. The most I've heard servers make in Gaithersburg are around $40,000 and that's at pretty nice places (in MD, you get $2.29 an hour and rely on tips). And the location of the place isn't the best, so it's not really full ever. I still call BS on him. :p

MN offers minimum wage to servers...so to counteract that, I never tip.
