It said the seller person is 33 yrs old. I think its retarded to call him a kid, I mean, come on. I'd not pay that money, but there is some sweet things in that lot.

Don't take labels literally. When I call some one a kid, I'm not calling them a child. It's like if I called you dude, I'm not saying that you are an urban easterner who is vacationing on a ranch.

ie: I'm 29 and still refer to the pals in my favorite music genre as hardcore kids, even though some of us are early 30's and late 20's.

Hahaha, I remember getting those fanclub letter on Grand Royal stationery in 1992...pre-internet days, they sent the lyrics to CYH with those.

Wow. I wonder how much it costs just to list a $25k auction.

That's a good chunk of change to gamble with.

Look what it says at the top "Please help This Bi-polar Singer/Songwriter Out!"

I also like how he has the "Make no payments for 3 months" option!

Here's something to think about: if the Beasties wouldn't sign autographs for those guys after the Hollywood show, what are the chances of them forking over $25K to buy their own records?!!!

I don't know if I said this correctly.

What I'm thinking is:Ebay gets a percentage of the final auction selling price, but they also get a percentage of the listing price whether it sells or not.

So let's say I list something for $1,000. They get, I think, $5 right off the bat (plus extras if I add special headers, boldface, picture gallery, etc.). Then there's the percentage of the final listing fee as well.

I guess what I was thinking was -- if it's true -- here's some dude who's already "nearing Johnny Ryall status" who might not make a dime and STILL owe Ebay a few hundred bucks for a listing....

EBAY doesnt get anything unless the item sells. if it doesnt sell, the item can get reslisted for the same price or the seller can choose to lower his "reserve"

EBAY gets 3% of the final sale. so, if some moron actually wins it, EBAY gets $750.

The best Beastie Boys eBay auction ever (http://www.bayraider.tv/2006/10/the_best_beasti.html)

There's a silver lining to every cloud. The cloud is that eBayer del01 is in debt to the tune of $25,000. The silver lining (for everyone else) is that he's selling off his prized collection of over 100 Beastie Boys items (http://cgi.ebay.com/BEASTIE-BOYS-PROMO-100-items-Rare-Action-figures_W0QQitemZ300042155439QQihZ020QQcategoryZ10 4677QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem), including rare promos, picture discs and action figures. The price for the collection? You guessed it: $25,000. Although he'd quite like it if you could give some of the items back to him once you've bought them. No, I can't see it either. Anyway, to help del01 out of his financial quagmire, and bag yourself a Beastie treat, get bidding now.

Uh... not so. Ebay gets an insertion fee. Trust me; I've had to pay it.

Yeah, you get to relist it a second time if there are no qualifying bids, but they still get a fee.

Insertion fees and final value fees. (http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/fees.html)

But, now that I check it, the insertion fee for this is less than five bucks, so that's not going to break the bank.
