Not in a gay way or anything. As some of you may know I've only been living in my current location for like 2 months. So far I've only made a few friends and it kind of sucks. On top of all that I typically have mostly female friends but always like to have some guy buddies to do guy stuff with....pretty much going to pick up chics and play golf shit like that.

anyway there's a dude in my new shop that I think is really cool. We goof off all day at work and pretty much just do hilarious shit to our co-workers. He's cool and I could see us being friends but it's not like I can just be like "So you wanna be my friend?" My female friends call it a "man crush". I wanna see if he wants to like do something this weekend but I don't want him to think I'm gay or anything. How do I go about this?

just talk about something that normally involves weekend activities - pub dinners, the pub, alcohol, drinking, pub, dancing, cinema etc etc and take the piss about some aspect of it.
then naturally just sort of slip in "LOL OH I SURE DO LOVE [xxxxx].. god haven't had [xxxxxxx] in a long time - say what, d'ya fancy trying [xxxxx] at the weekend?"
don't make it into too much of a big deal or you'll get nervous. people are often delighted to be asked out to do something. just go for it. infact, do it in the next hour.

OMG! That's totally happened to me.

There was this British chick I met at a new members meeting for Search and Rescue and we hit it off right away. She started chatting about Steve Buscemi, and then I was doing the "best man speech" from the Wedding Singer. And then we were joking around about poking dead bodies while on training. I laughed a lot, which is rare for meeting new people.

The next meeting, she was gone. I never saw her again. I could have actually seen us being like best good friends too. :(

So um, I would say casually invite him out with some of your other guy friends. Just be like "Yo, happy hour tonight, you want some beerz?" cuz that's totally hetero and he'll have no idea you want his nuts. (y)

I dunno the girl I"m seeing now was all shocked when I told her I would like for her to come out with me and the homies....I guess her ex would always leave her home. I just figure that when I'm with somone I want to share everything with them and be around them as much as possible. Plus I would definitely want to show her hotness off to all my friends (y)

If you think that he's got to plan his nights out in advance , plan something in advance like I dunno golf or some band your into and then just say hey i'm going to go and ...... in a few weeks, like casually as if you were just making coversation, then if he seems like 'oh that's cool' ask him if he wants to come along.
But yeah I had a girl-crush (not the usual girl crush the type your talking about) on a girl that was at my work. I suggested we should go out sometime but she didn't seem that into it. I guess she has her own life outside of work.
Too bad I dont.

At some point... the topic of going out sometime will come, more than likely. Basically, give it time. I wouldn't rush into making friends. First, earn each other's trust.

Well I'd like to think I'm much cooler in real life than I am on here...I don't think I have a lot of enemies on here cept Qdrop and Rob$...I usually have lots of friends in real life but I just moved to my current location about 2 months ago so I'm still workin on gettig plugged into the social scene.
