It's funny to me how, even though we gained (got to sleep in) an hour, it seems that so many of us are still walking around, bumping into poles, rubbing sand out of our eyes.

nah, i think we're the only state in Australia that doesn't have it. There are some stupid reasons and some good ones. Main good one is that Queensland has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world so an extra hour out in the sun aint going to do anyone any good

WA doesn't have it either.
they're three hours behind us (us being the important people on EST) now.

Fall Back!

I have read stories about hard headed people that refuse to change their clocks. I wonder what time it is in their world? I think we have Benjamin Franklin to thank for Daylight Savings Time.

I have a 10 week old baby and he seems to be all mixed up. It may not be the time change.....it might be that he is a baby.

Erm ok then... That's kinda like how kim yung il (or whatever his name is) senior just decided to start the calander back to zero!
i dont think these people understand the concept of time whatsoever. But atleast he did it for a whole country.
Aren't those people late for work? OR early. I always get that bit confused.

went to a party on sat night and there were 6 people who played flip the cup for 4 hours STRAIGHT. Needless to say, they were all later found strewn around on or near the bathroom floor. Oh, one did make it home, but not before puking in the car that took them there. It was your typical halloween bash.

gotta wait for the pollies to decide

icy: you forgot NT and WA! the most northern states of australia don't have it, as well, we get enough daylight as it is! (WA already has a later sunset by about half an hour if you dont count daylight savings)

¿Que est "flip the cup"?
Flip-Cup or Flippy-Cup is a game played between two teams of 4-6 players per side. Each team lines up on one side of the Flip-Cup Table. In front of each player is their Flip-Cup which is filled up with a pre-set amount of beer. The amount of beer in each cup can be negotiated between the 2 teams, but the official rules of Flip-Cup states that “each cup should be filled with exactly 4 oz of beer”

Once all the cups are filled, the race begins! The Flip-Cup judge signals the start of the race and then one player from each team (on the same end of the table) has to drink their beer, put their cup down on the table, and then Flip-their-Cup so that it lands on its lid. If the cup doesn’t land on its lid, then the player must pick up the cup and try to Flip-it again. Once the player successfully Flips-their-Cup, the next person on their team is allowed to drink their beer and try to Flip-their-Cup. The race ends when all of the players from one team have successfully Flipped-their-Cup. Most matches are Best-of-5 or Best-of-7 format.

All rulings by the judge are final. In the event that it is too close to call, the judge may call a Tie Game, and that race will be done over.

all that happened was for some reason the media decided to have a "bring in daylight savings campaign", to make the public think its a big issue, probably to take our minds off bigger issues.

then we were told we were getting a 3 year trial, and a referendum after that.

but a few days later it was revealed the the politicians actually hadn't decided yet.

i'm sick of the attitude that not having DLS makes us "backwards".

I got really freaked out today cuz everything was backasswards. In the morning, I had to scrape thick frost off of my car in the sunrise. Coming home it was pitch black and I took off my coat because it's around 68 degrees.

The differences in temperature coupled with the change of light outside really fucked with my head.

I'd like to register a complaint.
So I get up at 5.30 on Sunday morning for work thinking it's 6.30, and only realise my mistake as I get outside a patients house, and have to sit in my freezing car, waiting until I can knock on her door.

It was a horrible day and my head gasket went south causing huge engine pressure and anti-freeze spewing out the engine and water out the exhaust and I had to buy a cheap car yesterday and now I have to get underneath it and treat a load of rust and now it's bloody cold and the wind right now is 90 mph.

It's winter, and there's no going back.

I'm, pretty sure if the clocks hadn't gone back, none of this would have happened.
