The only shows I've seen were on the CYH tour and Pageant '04. I couldn't get a ticket for the 1995 tour and my mother would not let me attend the LTI tour since I was 10.
CYH was off the hook though.

Wow...my first concert ever was the Together Forever tour in 1987. And I've been to multiple concerts at every tour since...but I have to say the Pageant comes in first with CYH coming in a close second.
Here's why the Pageant wins out.
1. They're six albums deep so they have nice setlist.
2. They connected with the fans...shoutout vids.
3. The tux/float instrumental set
4. Intergalactic in the upper deck.
5. We got AIFST out of the Pageant.

Ill Communication tour deserves a mention. Medium sized venues, the crowds were live as fuck, Instrumentals, Hardcore, you name it, these shows had it all.
Also, it was Intergalatic that was done from the satalite stage last time around.
Thanks for heads up on my brain-fart.
The three IC Quadrophonic shows I saw were in large arenas. Definitely not medium-sized. But yes, it was a very nice tour. (y)

As i have only been to the Pagaent and the west coast club dates....I put the club dates... Seeing the Beasties in a 400 person club in NYC was a dream come true and then another small venue in Vegas, with a diverse setlist and the audience was great aswell.

I'd have to say Ill Communications as well, cause I saw them 9 times during that tour and some of the gigs are still in top of my all time favourite gigs (and as yous guys know I've been to millions of gigs during my 33 years of gig-going...). 98 tour was mainly festivals, even tho the one in Norway sticks out (32 songs played, compared to 20 in Nancy in France... they didn't even play Intergalactic...). After that it's been more rare and rare in these parts...

I will never get over missing Beasties at First Avenue. I've been there hundreds of times but not the most important time. :(

Since the title of this thread is about the CYH tours, I'll share my experiences.
I saw them June 1st and 2nd, 1992 in New Orleans and Houston. They were both at small venues. I know Fu Schnickens opened and maybe someone else. I think Ricky Powell might have done his little stand up act.
This was at the height of grunge and moshing type stuff. I still have a stain on my CYH bees+tea+boys shirt from the floor that won't come out.
Then they toured again in New Orleans in November of 1992. This time they had Cypress Hill and Rollins Band. Rollins Band drained the energy out of the crowd with their 2 encores. The mosh pit was tired and sweaty by the time the Beasties hit the stage.
I could be wrong here...but I think all three Beasties were playing separate drum sets during one song. I might have this confused with some IC shows.

My sister went to the Check Your Head tour concert in Slivenija...I was 9 and I couldn't go with her, even if I wanted it so badly...anyway she gave me the ticket as a gift, when she came home, and I still have it, in my bedroom, just upon the top of my bed, in a frame :)

They def played three drum sets on the IC tour (1995 leg). During the instrumental jams all three of them got on seperate kits. I think at msg 95 they played son of neckbone with three kits.

That's my ticket reppin' right here and the setlist that I could remember:

Awesome...I used to have two of those bees+tea+boys...one with the black&yellow letters, the other with black&green letters.
It was Aug 18, 1992...the Beastie Boys thing with Duff on MTV was showing all week so that was hyping me for the show. "Jimmy James" video had just been released also.
I was 15 so yeah that was and still is the highlight of my fan life. Best show ever.
I remember many heads turned away when it was posted that House of Pain would not be playing the show. It was at the height of "Jump Around". It was that whole Beastie Boys are washed up vibe that mainstream America had at the time.
L7 opened the show and did a pretty good set...songs like "Wargasm" were dedicated to President Bush and his Republican warmongers in office (hmmm....wow and here we are again a decade and 1/2 later)
The sound system began playing an eclectic mix of reggae, punk, hip-hop and the last song I remember everone was jumping up and down to Cypress Hill's "Hand on the Pump" then Ricky Powell did his stand up...I remember his joke "riding your girlfriend bronco style and you call her the wrong name and hold on for dear life"
In the darkness Hurricane dropped the beat for To All The Girls...than the Beastie Boys came jumping out on stage...I'm not sure I have the setlist correct but the first song was hype!!
I was taken aback in my amazement that my idols were right there in front of me. I had always wondered how they would perform the instrumentals...it was nice to see how they made the sounds on "Lighten Up".
The one thing I remember..being my first show and all and during their set of hardcore songs...I saw a circular opening in the crowd and was about to walk through it when my sisters boyfriend pulled me back and said that was a most pit. Ah, age 15 young and naive. That moment right there made me an instant fan of hardcore along with the introduction to me of Minor Threat..since that moment that's been my favorite form of music.
The encore was So What'cha Want.....the place did not have A/C, it was a former boathouse...very humid inside...I had my bees+tea+boys shirt over my bob marley shirt..so I was dripping wet on the wayhome and in disbelief that I saw my idols live in front of me.
I think the spirit of that kid in me came back when I saw them again in 2004 at San Diego. It was a surreal feeling when they came out on stage. :D

Great descriptions! I saw 2 CYH shows in Boston back to back (like 2 weeks apart at the same venue -Avalon on Landsdowne St./Ted William's Way). The first one had Bosstones opening and was like a WBCN promo show. The second was the official CYH show. Both were amazing. Smoked on the tour bus with Ricky Powell and got dirty looks from Ione Skye during sound check. Lots of fun.
Ricky showed me tapes of Rappin with the Rickster on the bus and I later bought his best of VHS at Fat Beats. Still got it. Funny stuff.
