so um. My crush is supposed to come with me to whatever my friends and I end up doing on Halloween. And if he doesn't have an interview after all on wednesday he might be staying for a few days.

My house is great except the pump in our pool is broken and recently our plumming went crazy. Apparently the owner of the house is lazy, or cheap, or is having a hard time finding someone to fix our problem. There is a HUGE clog in the pipes under the house. Thus, there is now only one working bathroom in a house of 6 people (usually we have 3, and one of those I get to myself). Anyway, because of this, the pool is a nasty green and I used the toilet before I knew it was broken so #1 has been sitting in there for days. Gross. And near the other bathrooms is starting to smell (roommate also used the other bathroom not knowing it was broken). The kitchen sink started to run like crazy too and the entire kitchen flooded so a lovely mildew smell is brewing.

I'm going crazy because it's not fixed yet in the first place and I live there, AND NOW, let's call him Sam, is coming over and my place is a fucking hell hole at the moment.

I don't want him to come over and think "uh, this place is gross this girl must be gross" or something or other. I was even going to have the entire house cleaned after the plumming was fixed but obviously it hasn't been fixed yet. I don't want to get it clean then have the plumming explode again.

Someone stall halloween for me please. ugh.

if he is any kind of man, he should not only mind the disgustingness, he should be in his element. :)

if you just explain the problem, I think it will be fine. unless he's a jerk. in that case who needs him?

Huntington Beach. It's maybe an hour and a half drive.

What if the opposite happens and he's way turned on by backed up plumbing? Then you might have a real problem.

touche.

I get freaked out about things being clean though. I'm not a neat freak either I just, want things to be halfway decent. And I feel like I'm living in a sewer right now.

I can't imagine why anyone would be put off a prospective partner by the poor state of the plumbing in their house.

Unless of course 'house' is them, and plumbing is 'genitals'.

I've been to his house before. He thought it was a mess. It was in just about perfect condition.

Then again maybe he cleaned up because he knew I was coming over. Blah! I hate caring about this stuff.

There is a book at your local library that talks about renters rights. You should look it up. Even better, make a date with your boy so he can help you get your plumbing fixed. In your house.

Yeah I should. It's been a week now, and the pool hasn't been fixed since we moved in on the 1st of October. It's bullshit. My other roommate is the one that talks to him though perhaps I should get on the horn. I'm glad there was no deposit but before I'm paying my rent on the first I want this taken care of.

and I hope Sam is more concerned with touching my butt instead of being concerned about the state my house is in. We'll see. haha.

If this guy can fix your plumbing you should marry him. Plumbers charge ridiculous amounts of money. He might become a plumber......and he might even show you his plumber's crack.

I'd probably use the plumbing as an excuse to go rent a hotel room with him. Didn't yo say there's 6 people living in your house? I mean I'd probably wnat a little more privacy, less interuptions with him anyway.;)

he might be staying a couple of days??? this is a crush, not a boyfriend. he can stay at a hotel. it isn't your problem that he invited himself along and he lives an hour and a half away.

things turned out well. I ended up at a hotel actually due to other issues with the house, and stayed up watching movies and stuff.

I felt really shy though. Gross.
