...just in case you folks need to know: there is no better vampire movie than Werner Herzog's 1979 (?) version of Nosferatu. (http://www.imagesjournal.com/issue08/reviews/nosferatu/text.htm) Seriously. Dracula has never seemed so elemental.

Klaus Kinski, Isabelle Adjani, and many, many vermin.

9/10. (y)

the original nosferatu is the only vampire movie i've ever seen and it pissed me off because i couldnt tell when it was supposed to be night time and at first i thought the vampire guy was running around in daylight.

Herzog takes Muranu's version and improves it. Then Coppola tries to swipe some from that, but fails. :D

Fucking Lost Boys!

...then Batman's Nipples Guy puts pretty boys in leather and does his John Hughes version. :D

That is so wrong on so many levels.

The Lost Boys just gets better with time : before Kiefer was Jack Bauer, he was a freaking vampire leader!

Also, any movie with Dianne Wiest, the Coreys (Feldman & Haim) and the dude who played in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (Alex Winter?) can't be bad.

Don't forget the pivotal role of Edward Herrmann!

I sincerely hope she was very well-paid to be in that movie. :D

She was pretty watchable.

The Coreys musta had fun.

I don't know...it looks to me like they all enjoyed doing the movie and it was just good popcorn fun.

CRAP! I totally forgot about Jason Patric! Man...was he dreamy with the long hair : LOL

Lost Boys hands down. Nosferatu is really good too though. Fuck that Interview with a Vampire movie, it's trash.

I watched Nosfertau and was not too impressed although the Dracula was creepy.

When I think of Vampire films the ones that come to mind are....................

From Dusk Till Dawn-Selma Hayek(y)
Underworld-Kate Beckinsale(y)
Bram Stoker's Dracula
Vampires by John Carpenter

This thread is giving me impure thoughts in the Gary Oldman department.

I liked Shadow Of The Vampire as well, the one with Eddie Izzard.

What ever happened to Gary Oldman? I thought he would become one of the great actors of my generation. I really liked his pimp role in True Romance.

One of my favorite scenes in any movie ever is the one where dude takes him out. I can't remember what he says, starts out like, "I'm not sitting because I ain't staying and I ain't eating cause I ain't hungry...." I don't remember, I just know it was slick.

Speaking of acting....not vampires.....I read an article in EW about the actor that played Kelly Leak, Jackie Earl Haley, in the Bad News Bears. He is making a comeback. He is in a film called Little Children and is in All the King's Men.
Good for him.

I think I saw Breaking Training at the drive-in.

I know I saw the first one at our fairly-new mall. Then probably went and played pinball at Aladdin's Castle. (y)

The Horror of Dracula
Dracula Has Risen from the Grave
Dracula AD 1972
Dracula, Prince of Darkness

Christopher Lee as Dracula and Grand Moff Tarkin as Van Helsing ( I can't remember if he is in Dracula Has Risen from the Grave right now) is really hard to top in my book.

I think I love the Hammer Dracula movies so much because I was watching them when I was 5 years old so they will always remind me of me almost shitting my pants as a young'un.

I will admit to liking Interview. Sure its not half as good as the book....but I watched it last night after not seeing it since the theatres and I enjoyed it. Even pre out of the closet crazy Tom Cruise wasn't as annoying as I remembered him being when I saw it the first time.

Good for him.

My ex-wife went to school with him and said he was a total ass when he was in school : all chest puffing and entourage-ing like he was some big piss.

He was also in that biking movie and is the grandson of the guy who played the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz.

Crap, I'm damned afraid of myself that I remember all that shit off the top of my head.
