RE 4.

Hugely long, great controls, bonus modes upon completion.

Vice City was great too, but RE 4 is rulz.

Fuck this is hard because both are fantastic. You'll be dissapointed with neither of them.

I'll say Vice City just because the voice acting talent is so good and often funny too. plus there's so much to see and do.

RE4 is a fucking cool game too though, very stylish.

What you playing on PS2?

Vice city was too flat for my liking :(

Basically I've played San Andreas and PES3 ( ! ) until infinity. I need to upgrade before wintertime.

Can't really afford a collection of games, so I need to pick them carefully.

I know you've made you 2 choices - and 2 good ones at that - but why not give PES6 a try?

It's as addictive as crack. If you are looking to get into games for a long experience and to keep you occupied for a while I'd definately tip VC over RE4.

Too flat? In what way? I thought the story was excellent, very much ripped off from several films but, still, amazing.

I much prefer it to San Andreas.

Flat as in no hills, and 25% of the land mass was a beach with nothing on it :/

GTA III will forever have my heart anyway ;)

Going to Vice City from San Andreas is like going from Super Mario 64 to Super Mario 2. It's such a downgrade.

I highly recommend RE4 for the same reasons Beck mentioned. It's seriously one of the best I've played.

I want something that's not football, even though I believe it's really good.

Suppose i need storylines and blood.

Hmm VC ehh...

I suppose there's not much in the way of hills.

GTA3 is the tightest designed, no doubt about it. I loved "replaying" those maps on Liberty City Stories.

San Andreas was too sprawling. I hope they make the maps on the next game a bit "tighter". My friend Alan from Edinburgh is one of the animators. :) The games are packed with Scottish references, SA even has the Forth Road and Rail bridges in it.

You know somebody who works for Rockstar North? Fantastic!

Say, they don't need an extra illustrator do they, or somebody to brew the tea? :(

Hey!

Tell him to put animals and children in the next GTA. I always felt something lacked.

GTA Vice City Stories on the PSP is insane. Rockstar went nuts with the explicit content on the PSP versions of GTA.

I'm still praying that they bring LCS and VCS out as a bundle to tide us PC gamers over until GTA4 is released on PC in 24 and a half years time.

San Andreas was awesome. My roomie bought it when it came out and I got to the part with the gangwar and was determined to win all the land. He played it way more though, and was so far ahead of me that I lost interest in my own saved game.

There was just so much in that game...I lost interest. The main character was too static, you did anything and everything.

We used to get kicks out of trying to go to new areas before they were unlocked. I'd steal a motorcycle and go up the vegas strip with 5 police stars and try to get in the water and make it back to charted territory.

Using the van to hop up into the locked Airport in order to steal a plane and hit any area = awesomeness.

Yeah i love flying planes. When i was playing high i used to aim for the sun. hahah far out.

Don't listen to these morons. Resi 4 is a good game but Vice City is one of the most amazing games I've ever played. A few reasons it's infinitely superior to RE4: The soundtrack, the story, the voice acting, the cars, the missions.

Definitely get RE4.
I got it when it first came out on the Gamecube and it blew my mind because I didn't play anything as good as it in such a long time.

Just to put my two cents in I'll say I didn't really like Vice City. Loved GTA3 though (y)

It's not as good on PS2 - which I'm assuming is what he's gonna be playing on.

I never saw RE4 on PS2, so maybe Vice City. I dunno - the two games are pretty much from different generations of gaming. Both games are pretty indispensible, but I have to imagine you can get Vice City for next to nothing now, like $5 or $10, while RE4 probably still costs 30 or 40.

One of the head guys from rockstar north gave my local football team a bunch of money as he stays up here and supports them (apparently)

Get San Andreas for the PC then download the multiplayer add on (http://www.sa-mp.com/). That shits awesome. Vice City is good but I couldn't go from playing SA to playing VC.

I do love Vice City. I love the music, the costumes, everything. This game needs a makeover in next gen, everyone looks like they are wearing snowboarding gloves in the ps2 version.

I love San Andreas too, but I hate gta3.

can't really compare gta to resident evil, apples to oranges

Theres only about 15-20 of them in small offices, it's pretty mad they come up with such detailed games. My mate Allan works on things like, the strippers from VC. I went to school with Dave Jones too - the GTA 1 and Lemmings guy.

its a bit of a hotbed for games talent around my way.
