When I was about twelve years old, my father left my mother and moved to another country to be with a woman he had met in an ad in an adult magazine. This left me alone with my mother and three sisters. My mother was so hurt by my father's leaving that she pushed away all of the men in her life. Her father, her brother, her male friends at work, she told all of them that she never wanted to speak to them again. They had done nothing wrong, but she felt that all men were evil and she wanted nothing to do with them.

One night, I came to my mother privately and I asked her if she was going to send me away to live with my aunt. I was male, too, and I was afraid that my mother never wanted to see me again, either.

She said, "No, honey. You're my child and I love you. But... You can't be a boy anymore."

The next day, she took me to JC Penny's and forced me to pick out girl's clothes for myself. As soon as we got home, she took all of my boy clothes and gave them to Goodwill, so I would be forced to wear my new things.

Of course, I was upset. But what choice did I have? Dress like a girl or go naked. We were homeschooled, so there weren't any other adults around I could go to and complain.

My sisters taught me how to apply makeup, how to walk and talk like a girl. After a year or so, my hair was long enought that they cut and styled it like a girl's. I still remember seeing myself in the mirror for the first time after they cut my hair... I kind of fell in love with the girl in the mirror. All of the hate, the resentment I felt for my family just went away. I knew they had done the right thing, and I never wanted to be a boy again.

Everyone on the site thinks I'm a girl. I've had plenty of guys check out the pic in my profile and say how cute I am, how they have a crush on me... I love it! Sometimes I think about revealing myself to them, saying "Sorry, boys, this chick's got a dick," but I probably never will.

Seriously though I have a friend that is TG and she is currently going through hormone replacement therapy, a hell of a lot of psychological therapy, all this electrosis and other stuff to get facial and other body hair removed, voice training lessons and saving to eventually get 'the op'.
She was born a male, but is and has always been female.
She's only 20 but made the decision to go through with the change when she was 18. It's not an easy life it hasn't been, and even after the 'change' it probably still won't be. There's no way I could have the courage that she has, imagine having to tell your parents they're not going to have a son anymore but a daughter. They're not taking it all that well, but for my friend it was do or die. seriously.
