Yeah I've been following the development of this for a while... hopefully it will be as good as Shaun of the Dead. That's all I ask, if nothing else.

i'm glad i saw it, it's hilarious. almost as good as the office, i think.

i'd been meaning to see it for some time, but it's hard, because the DVD's aren't out in america, they're region 2 only, so you'd need a region 2 DVD player to watch it. but my aunt, who lives in london, sent me a cheap portable region 2 player for christmas, along with spaced and the mighty boosh, so i'm happy.

of course, i've found out now that just about every episode of spaced is available on youtube, so i could have seen it whenever, but live and learn

I knew Freebasser would start this thread up, what with the Britishness.

I am looking forward to this film hardcore.

oh my god, finally!!!!
As a Spaced/SOTD obsessed person it would be a sin not to watch this film.
I remember I even travelled a long way by train and foot to see SOTD when it came out here. There were 5 people in the cinema. Good times.
I hope more people will come to see this film so they'll finally show Spaced on telly.

edit: Just watched the trailer and I think this one is going to be even better. It has way cooler people. Kevin Eldon, Stephen Merchant, Olivia Colman... Yeah, this is going to be SO good.

It's out today, folks.

Naturally, I saw it about a week ago because I'm too cool to be allowed into regular cinemas.

It was noice. Very different from the Shaun of the Dead/Spaced style humour I've come to expect, but still extremely funny. WATCH IT!

I thought it was far far funnier than Shaun of the Dead. and I thought Shaun of the Dead was pretty good.

Yeah, me and my mates have been split over the two films but I think Shaun just edges it because of my anticipation of seeing the 'spaced' guys back in action together (y)

I finally saw this tonight. I've tried to see it 3-4 times and something always came up. I can't believe it's still in a theater.

Funniest movie I've seen in years. And it was really well made. Everything tied up nicely. Many funny movies don't know how to end. Well done. (y)

I liked this. It's amazing that the zoom-in-montage gag never got old.

Some of the blood stuff was incredibly funny.

Definitely worth a rental. (y)

Especially the slapstick garbage can to-the-head gag at the end. "YOU CHEEKY FUCKER!"

I liked the The Omen rip-off moment with the reporter. Oh my.

They also kind of nailed (excuse me) the homo-erotic police-ossifers/partners thing. There were a couple times when I could've sworn they were going to kiss.

I wish we'd had that one extra reaction shot from the swan, though. They included one; they should've gone ahead and put in another. I kind of wondered if not having the second one was a joke.

I really enjoyed it. though I think I laughed more at Shaun of the Dead. Hot Fuzz was totally entertaining and fun.

Simon Pegg is cute. *crushes*

how's the hand?"What was the second worst experience?"

They also kind of nailed (excuse me) the homo-erotic police-ossifers/partners thing. There were a couple times when I could've sworn they were going to kiss.In the commentary, there was suppose to be a GF character but Danny kind of ended up being the one and the funnier part is most of the lines were left unchanged. XD

Oh... are you serious?

Especially during the opening-up scene on the couch, man. That was pretty funny. It definitely sounded like typical man-woman "revelatory" dialogue, but I just assumed it was written that way for two men to heighten the joke.

Nice.

Bob

Marsha...?

have you ever seen spaced? the woman who plays the landlady in that also plays mary, the wife of/co-owner with (don't wanna be sexist) the guy who runs the pub

Shaun's more inventive and surprising that way, but I think Hot Fuzz is better made. So... actually, I laughed more during Hot Fuzz.

A-Z -- You like good TV. Go watch Spaced. You can get it on Youtube or TV Links. There are only about a dozen episodes. The two guys from Shaun and Hot Fuzz are featured in it.

Yeah, all three of them seem to have become one big click as of recently.

It'll be worth waiting for on DVD, then. Anyone know if there are any plans to release it in the States?

Bob

not that i've heard, no. it's been out for a long time, too. you'd think with the success of shaun of the dead and hot fuzz (they were successful, right?) they'd get the hint, but i dunno.

Maybe there are Hank Williams songs on the soundtrack.

finally saw it. it was awesome. Shaun of the Dead was pretty amazing, and did a great job of being funny and scary...so I'd say it was a bit more impressive. However, Hot Fuzz made me smile the whole way through. I even clapped at it, in my own living room. I'll have to watch it again sometime because I missed some stuff because I was laughing to hard/loud/long. (y) to Nick Frost being so lovable

I still can't believe some people think Shaun of the Dead is better than Hot Fuzz. he fly kicks an old woman in the face for god's sake.

i'm watching the movie for the 3rd time and i just noticed, the guy who plays simon skinner (grocery store owner, bad guy with the mustache) is timothy dalton, aka james bond (the crappiest one ever, but still james bond)

i like him much better here

Bob
09-22-2007, 11:33 PM
i'm listening to the commentary and there's apparently a lot of actors and actresses featured who are probably too good to be in this movie but they're all british and i don't recognize most of them

also, peter jackson (lord of the rings, king kong, other things) plays the santa claus who stabs simon pegg in the hand in the montage towards the beginning

edit: OH you mean george lazenby was the shittiest bond ever. yeah, apparently, i've never heard of him either until i just looked him up on wikipedia a second ago

haha yeah, i would have never guessed that either. uncredited apparently, too.

i like how simon pegg and edgar wright apparently don't seem to realize how big of a deal they are, how they genuinely seem surprised that classy actors want to be in their projects. it's like their success hasn't got to their heads yet, i think that's pretty cool

this is hot fuzz

I realised the other day that the great shower of shit known as The Killers' first album is called Hot Fuss.I fucking despise The Killers as much as I despise Snow Patrol

Also I noticed that Bob has now watched Hot Fuzz 3 times which is one more than me.I blame my brother because he borrowed my DVD and hasn't give it back yet the fucking wanker

oh ABCDEFZ..........you have to see Spaced before you kick the bucket(y)

I love Pegg & frost, and yeah-- I really liked it, but dug "Shaun" more. Perhaps because it was about zombies.

I wish they would release "Spaced" on DVD here in the US. Best. Show. Ever.

yeah there were some good ones. the Point Break stuff was explicit of course, but then other stuff like "Forget it, Nick. It's Sandford." I loled hard in cinema, but was alone. American Werewolf..., The Shining.

this was a pretty funny cop flick.

I loved the town mystery aspect of the storyline, Angel didn't trust anyone and his suspicions were correct.
