I think I did some sort of damage to a vein in my neck due to hysterical laughter without proper breathing during that scene. Fuck.

Hilarious. That's all I can say.
I make romance explosion on stomach.
and regarding the fight scene, I still taste your testes in my moustache!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061110/ap_on_en_mo/film_borat_lawsuitthat's cool. ever since i saw the movie i've been wondering how made up that scene from the rv was. cause it was just plain embarrassing and stupid and just ruined the otherwise pretty flawless movie.
and i doubt they're gonna get anywhere with that lawsuit.

:(
i really didn't laugh all that much. i was so excited for it, but i think seeing so much of it in the previews and hearing everyone talk about it really killed it for us. i lol'd at a few things here and there, but overall i was kind of disappointed.

i kind of left the theatre the same way....but the more I talked about it, or the more I thought about it...the more I liked it. Maybe you need to marinate a lil.

*shrug* i also think part of it was the people we went with had never really seen Da Ali G Show and thought it was stupid, and were really skeptical. i had to convince them that it'd be fun to watch. they kept giving me dirty glares during the whole thing...there were definitely some parts i was guffawing it up, and i know they laughed some too. i dunno. maybe i'll see it again sometime in a different mindset.

Ahh, the wonder that is English tabloid writing.
"But the Romanian village of Glod is SUING Borat for ridiculing locals after filming movie scenes there. A one-armed resident said: “It’s disgusting.”"

I wish there would have been more interviews, it was hard for me to watch this in movie form when I am used to him in Ali G form.

Personally I think Ali is totally played out. Only Borat made me like that show back then although Cohens ability not to laugh out loud or smile is still phenomenal. But the gags are weaker . I heard next up is Vienna's gay fashion victim "Boris". (y)

That was a very funny scene. I want to say a few people I knew walked out because of that scene alone. Fuck them.

i was rofl'ing when he was trying to buy the car - explaining how when he bought his wife etc etc and now she has a vagina that hangs like sleave of wizard.

I finally watched it this weekend. A couple of smiles, but overall, meh.
I am in agreement. I was excited but it was his HBO skits on a roadtrip. I liked the skit on the extras with the masseur. That made me laugh. I also liked the extra scene where the Hawaiian TV station thought he was a legit journalist and interviewed him on their noon show.

Yeah -- that one was good.
The one in the grocery bugged me, the one in the dog pound bugged me. It's kind of... it's just kind of cheap, what he does in general. If you catch on or don't "perform" in an embarrassing way or -- God forbid -- if you're even patient or gracious with him, you get cut from the movie. It's like, "I'll pull one over on you -- the world is made of idiots!" when, frankly, to adopt a guise and just bully people with your relentless insistence on playing a character kind of makes you the ass rather than the person you duped. He's like the Michael Moore of gonzo comedy.

I love the bootleg theme the DVD has going. Anybody else see this on the disc itself....?

the driving instructor was patient and gracious. the antique people were. the comedy instructor was. so was the car dealer. i dont get your point here.
hes comedic gold. half of what makes it so great is how the people react to him and the other half is what he actually says and does which is all too funny in itself.
i think people that dont like this or ali g stuff either dont have a good sense of humor and are uptight or they want to be the first ones to be like "oooo im too cool to like borat thats played out bla bla bla"
