i was.... "younger" or older and as big'a metallica fan as i am now when Load dropped.

i'd like to see how i'd react... even for Black Album, how my reaction for that woulda been if i was "there".

dunno why i'm thinking this.... anyone else thunk similar?

I was only a fan of 'Justice' when 'Black' came out, and at that I was 10 years old. So I didn't have the most refined palette. But I mixed with heaps of older cats playing Streetfighter, and the ones who'd never been big into Metallica loved 'Black'. The ones who were already diehards fucking hated it, for "slowing down".

yeah, see, that's the thing i'm so curious about. right now, i love both.... "eras". you'd have to be a fucking idiot to not appreciate kill 'em all to justice. but i do appreciate the black album for what it is.

just wondering what i woulda done if i was 19 when it was 1991 (or whenever black album dropped)

Played Streetfighter and thought about buying Skid Row's 'Slave to the Grind'.

Yeah, also "Monkey on my back" is a cool track on that disc.

Yeah, sometimes I wish I had been congnizant of certain artists at certain times.

I wonder what it would be like WAITING for the next Beatles record, and it turns out to be the white album. That was kind of their Sandinista! in a way. Would I love it? Hate it? Think it was a glorious mess? Argue with friends?

I would've loved to have been listening as the first three Elvis Costello albums dropped. Holy crap!

I remembered really kind of scrunching my nose at a good chunk of Fables of the Reconstruction of the Fables of the..., and then after it came out on CD, it became one of my favorite REM albums.

Anyway, so, yeah, Tzar, I know where you're coming from.

You're right. I always get those two confused. But I always have Turbonegro on my mind.
