What's new, homosapiens?

So yeah, I stop by here every now and again, just to see what's going on, but I don't really have enough time to check it all and keep up to date with all the new people and things.

So anything of any interest that's happened in the last couple of weeks? How is everyone, I hope nothing bad has happened or whatever.

Army is okay most of the time, doing this piss easy computer tests and getting like 98% in them all and they can't actually teach me any more at this level. But we're off to Belgium on Friday for Rememberence Weekend after a weapons handling test which we pretty much have to pass, but I'm confident I'll do well as it's fairly easy and simple.

We had our first exercise last week, eating the 24 hour ration packs and doing patrols and shit, which was not too bad, but at night it was below freezing and we had to sit out for an hour at 3am just waiting for the Corporals trying to catch us out sleeping. But there were no problems and I'm managing it fine so far.

My fitness is a bit dodgy though, as I am getting lots of pains and shit, but mostly they are temporary and I've been told I should get better with more exercise. So I just hope to endure some of the pains and tough PT lessons and hopefully just get through it all.

Overall, pretty good. Still glad I am here, can't wait to get to go back home for a weekend at the end of this month, and then time off for Christmas.

This made me think of that horrible Army commercial. The guy is on leave and hanging out with his friends on a street corner drinking some beers. He is in his uniform and has this holier than thou look about him. One of his friend asks...what are you doing in the Army? He indifferently says--computers. The friend kind of smirks and says--you can do that here. They cut to the guy in a helicopter with gunfire and bombs going off everywhere. He is frantically putting information in the computer--I would guess they are coordinates to drop a bomb on a family of 5. They then cut back to him on the corner with his friends. He looks at the guy like he is a piss ant and says....no (long pause) I can't.

The commercial did not make me want to join the Army. But if I did I would get in computers join his battalion and when we are up in the helicopter I would throw him out helicopter and spit on the pompous bastard as he fell onto the family of 5.
